Jewish girls or interfaith girls....I need your help!!!!!!
I need to order yarmulkes ASAP, like yesterday. We're having an interfaith wedding so I don't expect everyone to wear them obviously...but I want to provide the option.
My question is, I haven't even been around them in so long....which ones do people wear nowadways...the small suede ones or the satin ones??? I like the satin ones cause I think they're pretty but is that like, super old-school??? What are you girls getting or did you get? Also, I was going to order them in off-white, is that ok? That or black?
Help!!!

snowflake08 ordered them for her wedding in february so maybe ask her since her wedding already passed so she can best inform you what others prefer and also where to purchase them from

the suede ones are much more elegant IMO. That's what we did for my bat mitzvah... the satin ones can be OK but they are more goofy looking and old fashioned.

yeah, see, i didn't know if the satin ones were viewed as old-fashioned or not...i'm just thinking of the satin as a more formal material, that's why I was questioning which one....or maybe what is more appropriate for a wedding...

a lot of the suedes ones -- it's hard to describe -- but they are like pressed suede. so they almost look like leather and then a lot of times they have a design imprinted
go somewhere where you can see samples and pick what you like! i think the suede ones are smaller and less in-your-face which might be nice for an interfaith ceremony where not everyone will be wearing them

I like the suede ones too, but they are expensive. I think either is ok. I ordered the moire ones in white...I really like these. Either color you get is fine, people will wear those again

we got the black suede ones his mom ordered them already, they came in like under a week.
FH didnt want the big poofy ones. he wanted the ones that lay flat on your head

Good point. Unfortunately I don't have time to view samples. I need them in 2 weeks.

question...is your FH wearing the black one as well. I think I read somewhere that the groom is supposed to wear a white one regardless....is this true does anyone know????
ugh, I so wish I didn't wait till the last minute with this stuff....

I agree, suede is the way to go , the satin ones don't lay right IMO, and i think if you order them ASAP , you will get them in time !

Go to a local judaica store and see how long it will take. If you dont want them personalized you can buy them right there.

we ordered the satin ones...our wedding is in may so i thought suede was too wintery, but i think they both are nice!
