Jewlery and Shoes - need to matc?

I have a question for my BMs...

their dress is light gold with a faint silver embroidery. the shoes will probably need to be a light gold in order to look right.

i'd like to buy them tiffany silver necklaces as a gift. do you think that will clash if their shoes are gold? i don't know the rules about matching!

My opinion is that silver jewelry looks best with cool tones and gold jewelry looks best with warm tones - like gold, brown, etc. So I would think the necklace should be gold ... or gold-toned in some way ... probably not the answer you wanted to hear ... JMO, though.
