Ok..unfortunate for me I am beginning my career search in the real world. Anyways I just set up an interview for monday and the lady told me wear something business appropriate. FH thinks black pants and a nice button up blouse is good, Im not too sure. What do you guys think???

Re: Job Interview Attire
I think for an interview you should wear a proper suit.

I would never wear anything but a suit to an interview.

I agree. Especially if they mentioned what you should wear. It's always better to be overdressed than underdressed and a suit is much more professional.

Another vote for a suit. I always wear a dark colored conservative suit for interviews. Good luck!!

Another vote for a suit. Traditional business attire for a woman is also a skirt suit where the skirt falls at or just below the knee. Also, subtle nail polish such as a very light pink.

Most popular suit colors for interviews are black, grey and navy.

Re: Job Interview Attire
When I was graduating, I went to a seminar run by people who coach job seekers on how to act and dress professionally. I agree with the others that you should wear a suit. Something I learned in the seminar that I had never heard before is to wear no more than 13 accessories. So, for example, if I wore earrings, glasses, necklace, watch, belt, and scarf, that would be 7. (Earrings count as 2). The professionals say that more than 13 is distracting.
