Job offers

If they offer you 2 weeks for every 6mts you work would you think its pushy to ask for 3 weeks?

HR said every hiring manager is diff..

I would get the job first then push
I only get one week a year two weeks two years, etc....
so that is pretty good!!

They won't volunteer the extra week so I say ask and see what happens. The worst that will happen is they say no. Although, unless you are going for an upper mgmt position, 3 weeks seems like a lot for the first 6 months (JMO).

I say get the job first then ask. Only because you dont want it to come down between you and one other person and the only reason you dont get it is cause you asked for to much vaca time.
unless of course if its a deal breaker for you.. and i mean, if you wont take the job unless you can have the three weeks!

I agree....get the offer and then ask for the other week.

Definitely ask though...I was stupid and didn't but a few people in my group did and got it. I have to wait until my third year to get a third week (ugh almost there) but some others who asked had three weeks to start.

I think if you take the offer and then ask you'll have no chance of getting it. Before you accept, is the time to negotiate.

Doesn't hurt to try - they won't retract the offer.

I agree with Lisa - you have more negotiating power before you accept the position. It can't hurt to ask.
