I am not getting married there. I went to a friend's wedding there about 2 years ago and everything was great. You will not be disappointed!

Re: John Anthony Brides
I'm a John Anthony's bride as well (March 29, 2003). I have talked to a couple of brides who recently had their weddings at JA's and they were thrilled. I can't wait...7 months and counting.

Re: John Anthony Brides
Our reception was at John Anthony's last year, and it was great. They were the only place we looked at, and we have absolutely not one single regret about not having looked anywhere else. At the time we booked, my then-fiancee wasn't as sure about the place as I was, but since our wedding my now-husband loved our place and the service we got and is glad we didn't look around. We went to weddings right before and right after ours, so we had places fresh in memory to compare, and so we can say with confidence that we're glad we didn't shop around. You will not be disappointed with this selection!!

Re: John Anthony Brides
I am getting married there October 18 of this year. We looked around and still loved JA's. My friend got married there last year and it was great! The amount of food you get for the money is unbelivable.

Re: John Anthony Brides
Laurie,We chose the crepe instead of the pasta too for the same reason.
Last October I went to a wedding at Villa Lombardi's and they served a crepe. It was very good and I thought a little different. Pasta is also more filling, and as everyone knows there is going to be sooo much food.
I wouldn't worry too much about it. There will inevitable be some that would prefer pasta and vice versa.
I wish you stress-free days between now and your day!

Re: John Anthony Brides
Jen,Thanks for your response...that makes me feel better! What did you choose for the main course? We went with the combination plate (chicken boscaiola and filet mignon) or the poached salmon. I am confident JA's will do a terrific job! I am pretty much all done with everything just little details....good luck to you.. may you have a wonderful day!

Re: John Anthony Brides
if i am not mistaken--if you got the combination dinner as a choice--your guest could also just get two orders of chicken instead of chicken and steak-or visa versa---they just have to tell the waiter --just a tip in case your guest only likes chicken or steak and not both!!:)

Re: John Anthony Brides
Oh, the memories you girls are bringing back to me. We went with the crepe for our wedding for the exact same reason you've mentioned .. the pasta station at the cocktail hour .. plus I just thought the crepe sounded like a delicious variation from the usual .. and it was .. everyone loved it.We also did the combination .. I do believe it was the one with chicken boscaiola .. again because it was different without being too far out there.
Your servers will not tell guests they can substitute either the chicken or beef .. guests will need to ask. I wasn't too comfortable about that .. but as far as I know, it didn't pose any problems. From what I was told, people will ask if they have objections to eating something.
I hope you all have a beautiful, fun day!!

Re: John Anthony Brides
Laurie,We chose the same for the entree, chicken boscaiola and filet mignon. We picked the spinach & Ricotta crepe. I still have to pick a cake. I only have until tomorrow to choose. Did you say you were having an all white cake. I was thinking of having an all white cake, but didn't know if that would require a cake topping. Are you using one? So many decisions.......
Just a note, Patty told me that they need to proof read my menu cards beforehand. If there's any descrepancies they won't put them out the day of, could you image, all that work and they don't put them out
Where are you going on your honeymoon? You must be so excited with your day so close! Even though your review will be after our date, I'll be looking for it to compare our experiences.
Good luck to you, and may you have a beautiful day!!

Re: John Anthony Brides
What do you mean by menu cards. is there actually a menu for guests to read. And what do you mean by discrepancies.

Re: John Anthony Brides
Yes, the menus are for the guests. I'm doing one between each place setting. But they are totally optional. They will list the courses on it. And Patty from John Anthony's told me that if you have something wrong on there, like the wrong kind of chicken, they won't put them out at all. So she suggested I send her a draft before I print them.
Does this explain it better??

Re: John Anthony Brides
JenI was thinking of doing menus, I went to a wedding recently and I really thought it was classy. I just dont know if I will have the time. We are doing the all white with fresh cut flowers, (pink roses and calla lillies). I have a china cake topper from my grandmother that I am putting top of the cake.
Good luck to you - all the best I'm sure it will be a lovely day. We're taking a cruise to Bermuda for HM.
