John Anthony no feely good ...

My poor little champ.. He's such a good sport, even when he's sick...

Last week at the gym/daycare a few of the moms were talking about their kids just getting over what their brother had and one girl was coughing a little, looked feverish, etc. and my mgr was like 'Anna keep JA AWAYYY from them! ' She didnt realize this until the mom told her they were sick, and the girl was playing in the far corner on her own, so we didnt get a chance to really notice too much.

Well sure enough, yesterday we were in Queens (we slept over because we had a wedding Sat nite, and then we were going out to a big lunch with my family at an Italian Restaurant). Well ALLL NIGHTTT daddy and JA got NOO SLEEPP at all. Maybe an hour all nite. JA has this croupy-cough, dry, hoarse breathing, has been feverish on and off and runny nose to top it off...
He sounds like a little seal

We took him yesterday morning, back home and to the Dr to make sure it wouldnt get worse throughout the day. He basically just said EVERYTHING my MIL said (I should just give HER my copay from now on )
-It will go away within 4-5days.
-Hot Shower mist or cold air - good for clearing his throat.
-Avoid milk and milk products - make the flem worse. Stick to thinner liquids (pedialyte, juice, water).
-Giving him Robutussin

So far, he's still always smiling and playing, sick and all. he's such a good sport. But it makes me feel so bad seeing his helpless little face... I just gave him a warm bath. He's going down for a nap soon, and then we're going to take a walk for some fresh air...

Hopefully it's just a day or 2 more...

Hope he feels better! I heard yesterday that the croup is going around. It's scary, but just follow those instructions and he'll be better in no time

Re: John Anthony no feely good ...

Thanks girls !

He's already feeling MUCH better. I think he gets a kick out of hearing a different tone in his voice . Of course yesterday I was getting nervous hearing this little 'babble bark' but today I caught on, he does it even more than necessary and 'hams it up' to hear himself and to 'check out' the new voice

His fever is totally gone. Runny nose is lingering a little, and the croupy voice and breathing has been ok. (but they say its worse at night, so I hope this isnt wishful thinking)

Most important of all, he's in great spirits and running around and climbing everything in sight

How much fun it is to see them imitate us..
He just saw his daddy chewing gum, so he's walking around the room chewing nothing, but just making that chewing motion and sound.. too funny!

Thanks for the well wishes!
