John Anthony's On The Water

I keep meaning to post this, but I keep forgetting! : ) I went to a wedding at John Anthony's last Friday, and everything was awesome! Everyone had a great time, the food was fantastic, the service was excellent. If anyone is considering having their wedding there, I say go for it! If anyone already has their wedding booked there, can I come?? : )

Yipee!!

JennRenee, It`s always nice to hear wonderful things about anything you`ve booked. John Anthony`s was the only placed we looked at because I didn`t want to look any farther. I loved the upstairs room, of course now the downstairs room looks equally amazing .. but I still like the idea of having that higher view over the water. Anyway, we went to a recent tasting, and loved everything. And the people there have been so great to deal with. I`m glad you had a great time at that wedding. Which room was it in? Which room did they have the cocktail hour? The only concern I had was that there is only one set of bathrooms in the place, and I was a little worried that it might get a little cramped, but I've never heard that as a complaint from anyone who's attended weddings there. The only other thing that I'm anxious over is getting some beautiful pictures out on their deck. What a spectacular view!! It's going to be great!! :)

Yipee!!

Kel, The wedding I was at had their cocktail hour in the downstairs room that was opposite and diagonal from the staircase. The reception was upstairs. Both rooms were gorgeous, and had beautiful views. There was a prom going on at the same time, and there was no problem with the bathroom. At no time was it ever crowded, and as far as I know, no one had to wait. You are going to have a wonderful wedding! : )

Questions for Kel

Kel, We are getting married at JA this summer and we too loved the place- my only concern is taking pictures if it rains- not to be pessimistic but I am extremely realistic. Do you have any ideas? Also, another random question- do you know anything about the bakery they use for cake/cookies? Thanks and good luck.

Cley

I`m not really thinking rain ... I`m hoping if I keep a positive attitude it will all work out, and I tend to always thing the worst with everything!! Seriously though, I don`t really know what we`ll do. Probably just take them in our room upstairs in front of the window. Plus, our photographer has a great shot he took on the deck at JAs of a couple in the rain under an umbrella. Not that I want that shot, but I know there will be plenty of options, even if it doesn`t seem so at this point. All I know is that I definitely want us to make the cocktail hour to meet with everyone and have that extra time to share. So, if we have to take pictures indoors at JAs, that`s fine with me. Sorry, I know this probably doesn`t help you. As for cake/cookies. I don`t know. I just thought it was their own staff. Have you thought about the menu at all? We`re having a hard time deciding on what we want to offer for dinner. All the options sound great. I think the tri-plate option (filet mignon, chicken en crute and I think shrimp) sounds great. But I don`t know if people will like the idea of not actually being able to make their dinner choice, eventhough they can alter it ... subbing extra chicken for the fish, or extra filet for chicken. What are your plans or thoughts??

John Anthony`s On The Water

I am considering JA's. I am concerned about the crowds with two events going on at once. I heard that it gets crazy at times. I am also concerned about bathroom space. Any feedback?

John Anthony`s On The Water

I was at a wedding there last weekend, and there was a prom going on at the same time. The only time it was crowded was when the prom kids lined up to take their formal pictures, which is probably not something that normally happens since prom season is relatively short. Other than that it was fine. The bathroom was never crowded, and as far as I could tell, no one ever had to wait.

They schedule thier party's about an hour to an hour and a half apart so one cocktail hour is starting when no one else is around and than the other starts right before the first one goes into their reception. If your the later one than you will be ending without anyone around from the earlier party. this is also good for your guests getting thier car from the valet guys...no hassles of everyone from 2 partys coming out at once!
