Ive heard from a few people that the owners of John Anthonys are fighting and they might be closing. Has anyone heard of this??? My aunts daughter was supposed to get married there in september and heard of this rumor and called in july to ask them about it and the owner said that there was an 80% chance that they would still be open in September. They wound up getting thier deposit back....so i dont know. They are still open, went to a wedding there yesterday and even though about having my wedding there too but i just dont know what to think.

I'm not a JA bride, but there has been a lot of talk about JA closing on this Thread
Good Luck

Re: John Anthony's closing???
I don't know anything about them closing but I was supposed to be a JA's bride as you can see from the thread. IMO, I would look elsewhere and just save yourself a headache.

Not a chance I'd want to take.

Re: John Anthony's closing???
I wouldn't want to risk it. In cases like this - they just close the doors one day. There's no notice, no getting your money back. She could find another lovely place and not have to worry about whether or not her reception hall will be open that day.

Re: John Anthony's closing???
I got my money back - made the decision about three weeks after I first heard of the situation. At this point, I'm glad I did because I have since heard that the owner/operator has left to start his own place and also that JA's is for sale. Of course, I can't confirm that but I didn't need the extra stress of wondering if my hall would still be open on my wedding day. I felt more comfortable getting the refund. Call them and ask for the owner - see if he's still there. Might give you a clue as to how things are going there.
