Jordan Almonds

Is that an Italian tradition? And if so what does it mean. FH is Italian and if I forget something I dont want to offend anyones tradition.

I found this search in google, I hope its correct. I also handed them out at my wedding because it was an italian tradition but I don't know the meaning exactly.

ITALIAN WEDDINGS Five almonds signify five wishes for the bride and groom: health, wealth, happiness, fertility, and longevity.
