Hi, I would like to know if anyone has any input in this company. I met with Barry yesterday and he answered all my questions. Now I would like to know if any of you ladies have any information about them that will help me make my decision. I would appreciate it very much

Hi! I haven't met with them yet, but I plan to in the next few weeks. I hear that if you go with them you must use JoVon himself. I have only heard very good things about them. Some other photographers that are similar to Jovon are Pace, Salzman and Ashley, and B rett M atthews. If I find out any more info I will let you know.

I met with Barry who runs the LI office and met JoVon myself. What's great about them is that they do there photo processing there on the premises. Most companies send them out. He told me that I would Ralph and talk to him and if I didn't feel comfortable with him that he would introduce me to someone else. There pictures are beautiful and I really liked.

I was married last may and used Jovon. Without getting into details everything went great. We were very pleased. One word of advise. Meet with Frank, not Jovon himself. He is the greatest. I did also hear great things about Saltzman and Ashley in Great Neck.

Thank you for that info. Barry only recommended Ralph b/c i told him that I wanted Traditional and Candid Pictures and he thought that he would be great. What kind of attitude did Frank have that you liked him so much.

I booked with Frank as well. I first met with Jovon but I wasn't impressed with him at all, I am a photographer myself and I asked him some questions and he couldn't answer them. However I have seen his work and it is very good. I decided to go back and meet with Frank because every photograph I pointed out was his. My FI and I met with so many photogs and Frank was the only one I felt comfortable with. Every other studio I went to would agree with everything I said and say oh yes we can do that no problem, then when I met with Frank he was honest with me. If I had a crazy idea he would say wait it can't be done because of this but lets try it this way. It mad me feel more comfortable that he knew more than I did. We ended up booking Frank and another photographer, & I let Frank pick him out, when he chose who it was going to be I saw his work and approved it. We actually had our engagement shoot last week and it was with our second photographer, we had sooo much fun. I really haven't been comfortable in front of the camera for years , (I guess thats why I am a photog b/c I get behind the camera) and I was so comfortable. It really bothered me that I was going to have to take formal pictures b/c I'm not at ease but with him I was comfortable now I don't have anything to worry about. Plus as I watched him he really knew what he was doing and I guess that put me at ease as well.

I went to Patken already, there pictures are nice but they are just the same in price take a few hundred off, but I have a friend who is sending her videotape back b/c she didn't get what she wanted. I didn't like them for personal reasons.

I absolutely loved JoVon's work but didn't love their prices or their attitude. I felt like part of their fee was so that I can help them pay their rent! I wanted a photographer that did creative, black and white and candid work as well as any traditional I may want to throw in AND I wanted 2 photographers because I am having 250+ people. I found Hal Lyman in Great Neck and me and the FI really liked his work and his price! I would check him out. Anyone out there use him or know or someone who has??

I had a poor experience with JoVon himself and his employees. I agree that there is a major attitude problem in that place. I booked with Frank and think he is a great 'salesman.' Please be aware they are very sneaky...my most recent escapade was paying for negatives that they threatened to destroy...2 years after my wedding. My end product (album & video) was nice but I thought paying more(honestly--the price of a small car) would give me higher quality....boy was I wrong!!
