JT Brides - Where are you getting ready?

JT Brides - Where are you getting ready?

My ceremony at JT starts at 5:30 pm, and I have my photographer for 10 hours (starts at 1pm) so I thought I'd have the photographer there while I was getting ready. I was originally thinking I could get ready in the bridal suite, but my BM told me that the bridal suite is not technically available until my contracted time (5:30pm).

He says most likely I can go an hour or two earlier, but now I'm wondering where I should go get ready. I could get ready in my parents' house, but it doesn't have the same picturesque feel so now I wonder if I should get a hotel room nearby.

What are you other girls doing?

I am getting ready at a hotel because my bridal party is huge and I live in a very small apartment in Queens-It would be crazy there. I think I can get a suite and hopefully they have connecting rooms. I have to look next week to block rooms either at the La Quinta or Holiday inn.

My ceremony is at 530 at JT too. I can use it at 4:30 just to relax and eat a little while everyone else is doing a 'run through rehearsal' My fiance is getting there at 4 but i have no clue where they will put him as we are not seeing each other beforehand. We are getting ready at home and I guess it depends what getting ready wedding pictures you have seen because i think home ones are so perfect! As a kid, I remember always viewing my mom's wedding album and loving the at home shots. There is one by the mirror with her mom's wedding picture framed right there in front on the dresser. I want that recreated with my mom and dad's picture. and there is something about stepping outside your home in a wedding dress. I LOVE passing weddings on my street! Its like 'awwwww!!! a bride!!! a limo!!! how nice!!' u also might be more comfortable at home, and most affordable if you do not have the entire bridal party getting ready at your house or if its a small bunch and the house is close to JT it might be worth it!? a hotel is nice too though.

My parents' house isn't that big, esp the bathroom. Maybe a hotel would be best.

Any other JT brides?

I got ready at a suite at the Hilton Garden Inn only b/c the 'Grand Bridal Suite' at the La Quinta was booked already, however I did use if for the night of the wedding for DH and I and it was HUGE!! We were able to entertain a few people after (only for a little bit LOL).

I highly suggest using the LaQuinta suite if possible. Plenty of room for parents, BMs, and vendors to be there at the same time

just know you dont have to have a huge house...i live in an apartment. I had 9 girls at my house the morning of, my mom, grandma, 2 photographers, make up artist, hairstylist and DOC. We all had plenty of room and it wasnt too crowded. Most of the girls stayed in the living room and dining room when getting ready. I was getting hair and make up done in my room. I was afraid of this too and thought it was going to be so hectic but it wasnt at all...it was real calm and laid back in my house. I have some pics in my album when getting ready the day of.
