July 4th wedding?

How do you feel about a July 4th wedding. In 2008 it's a Friday. So we would have the rehearsal on Thursday night and wedding on Friday.

I'm nervous that people won't show because of the holiday 3-day weekend that my wedding would be interrupting. I know it is about me and my FH and it is our decision, but at the same time, we have to guarantee 150 and we may not be able to do that if a lot of people don't show.

If we dont do it July 4th, we will be moving it to November 1st or 8th.

Please any suggestions will be welcomed.

My brother got married on July 3, 2004 (Saturday) and didn't have problems with guests not coming b/c of the holiday... However, he had a smaller wedding. Just know it's more expensive and more of a hassle to travel on the holiday weekend (if you have a lot of OOT guests).

Other than that, do what you want! It's your day. I'd have considered that weekend if that worked out for us... but I think July 4th is a Wed this year!
