We are doing a donation favor. However we still haven't decided what organization we are giving to.

That's such a nice idea.

Thanks!

How is everyone doing today? I feel like this week is never going to end. Anyone else feeling this way too?

Have you bought your shoes? Open or close toe? I am heading towards close toe. I'm going to look this week. That is next on my list.

I was looking for open toe shoes, it being July and all but wound up getting close toe.

Go figure, they felt the most comfortable and I loved the way they look!

I just ordered a pair of open toe - they are exactly what I was looking for (sparkly, strappy sandle with a heel less than 2.5') - hopefully they fit well

I don't know. I am leaving that up to my florist. She is going to make me sample centerpieces and bo-ks. I am going to let her make what she thinks would be best with my dresses and then take it from there. She is the artist and I trust her.

I am not sure what color my bouquet will be. My girls will have hot pinks, orange, and purple flowers and maybe some yellow. And I always thought I wanted some color but I saw a bride's bouquet that was mostly white and I loved it. Too many decisions to be made!

what do you guys think of the marriot? i was quoted a price of $109 for a friday and saturday night in the summer...they have a bar area and a restaurant, pool, etc...

If you're talking about the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale, that's a really good price...We got a rate of $149 for the weekend of July 8. I got the same rate from the Wingate Inn in Garden City as well. The Marriott allowed me to block 40 rooms (we did 20 rooms for Friday night, and 20 for Saturday night) without signing a contract where I'd be responsible for any rooms. That was the highest number rooms that any hotel I called would allow me to book. (The Wingate Inn only gives you 10 total rooms which was totally not enough for us b/c my FH's entire family is from out of town)

What are you giving as wedding favors? Let's hear from EVERYBODY!!!

We're doing a donation to the Boston Children's Hospital...Since my FH is from Boston (and we live in Boston) we wanted to do something Boston-related (since the wedding is in NY). My FH's family is also very involved with fundraising for the hospital, so we thought it was fitting.

A lot of charities will actually give you printed cards to give to your guests if you choose to do a donation favor. The ones from Children's Hospital say something like, 'A donation has been made in honor of our wedding guests....'

Mine is going to be white peonies, white hydrangea, white 'blizzard' roses (a very creamy white colored rose with a lot of petals) white and green ranuculous, and green hydrangea.

The girls are going to have pretty much the same flowers, but with some pinks thrown in (pale pink peonies, pink and green ranuculous).

I will try to find some pics that I can post....

So my wedding planning is on hold until after Thanksgiving. How about everyone else? All my bridesmaids have gotten sized for the dresses. I am so happy about that!

We were soooooooo productive yesterday! We decided on invites and favors. We have to decide on wording and then we will order them. Slowly but surely things are getting crossed off!
