Just a ponder...

Original post by SIBride06

Ever wonder why you never (or hardly ever)see anyone go someplace cold for their honeymoons? There are so many beautiful places on earth in the winter months.. Aspen, Colorado, The French/Swiss Alps, Alaska.. Northern Italy, Iceland... just to name a few. is there anyone here going anyplace cold??

I ask this because not everyone loves the heat, yet it seems as if most honeymooners choose a beachy paradise as opposed to a beautiful snowy spot. I personally know alot of people who live skiing and winter activities... and just the cold in general.

Just a ponder....

DH & I are not hot weather people. I'm an upstate girl who's used to the cold and cannot take the heat.

We were married in the end of October and decided to travel up to Manchester Village, VT for our HM. We both love slipping in a pair of jeans and a nice cozy sweater or slipping in our bathing suits and hopping in the outdoor jacuzzi while looking up at the snow in the mountains...that's our idea of romance.

Here's where we went...

My opinion is that people are looking to relax. Colder environments are more difficult to relax in. There might be skiing, tubing, snowshoeing etc but to just sit on a beach and veg out after a long planning period sounds ideal to me. I would love to hit Alaska one day though. JMO
