Does anyone here tell people (family or otherwise) they are TTC? It sounds like a lot of people keep it hush-hush...
I've been pretty out in the open about it with my parents and his and my grandmother and a few friends. I guess since they are always asking, perhaps telling them (and explaining that it may take me some time to conceive) might put that all to rest. I'm also excited to be trying.
What's everyone else doing?

I will definetly tell my parents and DH's parents. I know it is superstitious, but i would want our families support no matter what.

I haven't told anyone yet, except on the boards. I want to give it a few months before I announce that we are TTC. I think it is easier for me since I am not living near my family and friends right now, if I was it may be different. I don't think I could handle the additional pressure from friends and family asking me if I am pregnant yet especially if we experience problems. However, if we do experience problems I would definitely talk to my mom. If we don't have any problems (fingers crossed) then it will be great to surprise my parents.

My close friends and family know. It helps that they know but on the other hand it doesn't , for example....I was busy one week and my cousin thought I was avoiding her because I was hiding something (she knew I was ovulating 2 weeks prior to me 'avoiding' her) or if I am at a party and I am not drinking they think its because I am preggo and not telling anyone yet....

This is a hard one, I think alot of people expected us to have a baby pretty soon after getting married, no one really thinks it wont happen.
So after not happening, I think everyone comes up with there own conclusions.
in the beginning I didnt discuss it much with anyone, but NOW I talk about it with those really close to me, especially my sister and a friend that is going thru similar stuff!!
when people I dont want to know about us TTC, ask about when we are going to start having babies, I never know what to say, just say when the time is right, but I always feel my facial expressions give it away.
Its hard because you want to have people to talk to and then you want some people to know nothing about it.

I don't think I will tell anyone that I am trying to have a baby -- except you guys! I just feel like people will constantly ask about how it's going. If it takes years then we might be more vocal about it.

Plus, if it takes a while and if we should happen to have some trouble, I don't want people constantly asking me about it and reminding me how much trouble we may have.

same here....we'll be away from everyone so it will be our news to tell. It's such a private thing and we want to bask in that miracle ourselves first.

When we start REALLY trying, Ill probably tell my sis and a few friends, but noone else. We are wingin it now, havent used my ovulation kit yet because things have come up..will use it end of June and go from there

When the time comes I won't be telling anyone except my best friend. As you will learn people have ALOT of opinions & I don't need to hear them!! (especially my family ) I'd rather it just between my husband & me (& my best friend )

We did not tell anyone we were TTC... I'm not into my parents knowing we're having sex... lol I mean it's pretty obvious, but if you tell people it's like oh yeah by the way we are doin' it! JMO of course! I get a little shy when it comes to that!
