YES!!!!!!! I am having a big wedding so theres no way we can do unassigned seating, it would get hectic and probably turn into an idiot parade

YES!!! We recently went to my cousin's wedding in Vermont. They had no assigned seating...and my aunt and uncle (his parents) stood at the door to reception greeting everyone..and by the time everyone had sat down tehre were no seats left for them!!!! They had to sit at different tables with people they didn't know... They were not very happy about that!!! So yes I am definately having assigned seats...I do not want that to happen to me! Everyone gets up and walks around anyway...but before the dancing and everythign I'd like people to be able to sit with others they know and be guarenteed a seat with their guest!

Yes, we definitely are and what a pain in the a$$ its going to be organizing it We're going to put our families mixed through out the room rather than having a bride's side vs. groom's side.

that might be ok if its a small wedding but otherwise i would not recommend it at all

I agree, if it's small doable..My e-party had 60 people so I didn't do a seating chart people mingled and of course everyone wanted to sit around the rowdy table so I had 15 at 1 table but it was fun..but more than 50+ I say seating arrangements all the way

Without a doubt, no question about it!
I even wish I had done assigned seating at my engagement party, and that was 75 people ... there will be approximately 200 people at our wedding.
I am not giving specific CHAIRS to people, but I am definitely telling them which TABLE they are seated at.

cocktail hour is when they can mingle definitely assigned seating for us- FH has a huge family and any party without assigned seating (birthday, christening etc) someone always gets stuck at a wrong table- he has this one Aunt who's infamous for being the 'table crasher' lol!! and she'll talk your ear off for the whole night.
