Just curious... Why does it seem that many of you think...

that the wedding video is not as important as photographs? I would think it would be even more important. When I look at my video in 10 years, I'll be able to see all the action *live* - relatives who may no longer be around will be dancing - or I'll get to hear their voices again.

Don't get me wrong, I think photographs are important, but they only capture a split second. They can't capture all of the life of your wedding like a video can.

Am I alone in thinking this? It just seems like so many people are willing to pay tons for their photographs and then want to make up for that (budgetwise) by either not having video, or getting someone really cheap.

I am probably going to do what cp0329 said, and have a friend tape the wedding. I was tossed about this but I really can think of other things to spend $1000 on. I love pictures and will definitly appreciate them more than a video. I am going to ask a trustworthy friend of my brothers to tape everything. I am going to make a list of everything I want taped for him. I think this is more suitable for me and my budget and I will still have all the important stuff on tape. I will also toss him $100 buck at the end of the nigt, which I know he will not accept.

I'm with you 100%!! i love video. i think that it is more important than photos. but i guess it is a personal choice.

Video definitely gets to me more than the pictures but I think both are of equal importance for different reasons - I want to capture eveything anyway that I can- photo and video -and Im having disposables on the tables-

You're not alone!! I agree 100% that the video is just as if not MORE important then the regular photos. It adds that little something extra to your wedding memories!
