just engaged need help

HI i was hopin somebody could give me some suggestions.i am looking to get married in oct 2009 on a friday evening with 150 guests.we just started looking at places and havehad horrible luck..sandcastles wouldnt even show us a room cause we didnt have enough people, and i loved westbury manor but once again had too few people. woodbury country club was nice but i really wanted to use the outside for a cocktail hour but once again was told only for big parties, fox hollow was nice but we could only use the small room which i didnt like as much as the big room but would still consider it.so my question is does anyone have any suggestions for a place when your max is 150 people and if anyone has gotten marriedin the smaller room at fox hollow how ws it.. thanks so much

I'm having 200 guests so i'm not much help but . . . they sell magazines that list names of places and minimum / maximum number of guests. That should help. Good luck!

I'm so surprised to hear that Westbury Manor says 150 is not enough people. They have a room upstairs that holds about 90 so why wouldn't they show you that? we looked for Sunday evening with a guarantee of only 60 and found several places.

We finally decided on Larkfield Manor and had a woinderful night. the small room holds up tp about 120 and I'm not sure what they require for their large room but I would definitely check.

George Washingtom Manor had 75 min
Harbor Club,Irish Coffee Pub, Capt Bill's had small mins too.

try those if Larkfield doesn't work out.

we had 74 people at our wedding at the Swan Club and had the most amazing day! we were always treated well by the Swan Club and never made to feel like our wedding was 'small'. i highly recommend going to check them out!!!!

I know you said you want a Friday evening but would you consider a Sunday evening? We booked our reception at WM on a Sunday evening and our min. is 150 for the manor room...the per person cost was also about $10 less and they threw in a bunch of stuff!

Re: just engaged need help

you should look at glen cove mansion. i think 200 is their limit...so i would think 150 would be fine. it's gorgeous there. i wanted to have my wedding there, but it's too small....

Try Jericho Terrace or Milleridge Cottage House. Crest Hollow Country Club, etc. They were all places I checked out with higher minimums.

Edited to say: Welcome and CONGRATULATIONS on your engagement!!!

Check out weddingsitesandservices.com. They list the amount of ppl each place can accomodate. I found that site very useful when I was deciding on a hall.

Try Jericho Terrace, Cresthollow Country Club or Chateau Briand. All three are beautiful and accomdate parties of 150 people.

Re: just engaged need help

check our the meadow club as well....it's beautiful there...and our minimum was 100 but we figured on about 125 and we got the big room there. They are very accomodating ( not to mention the price is great)!!

The Riviera in Massapequa.
I will have @150 and I looked at Fox Hollow, loved the smaller room but he wanted us in the Briar room(sp) Westbury Manor we would have been in the smaller room, Jericho Terrace we would have been in the skylight room, Milleridge Cottage we also looked at. I loved all these places but, Riviera was the best.

Try:
North Ritz Club
Jericho Terrace
Fox Hollow
Chateau Briand

i know that those have rooms for the amount of guest you are having.
