just engaged need help

HI i was hopin somebody could give me some suggestions.i am looking to get married in oct 2009 on a friday evening with 150 guests.we just started looking at places and havehad horrible luck..sandcastles wouldnt even show us a room cause we didnt have enough people,and i loved westbury manor but once again had too few people. woodbury country club was nice but i really wanted to use the outside for a cocktail hour but once again was told only for big parties,fox hollow was nice but we could only use the small room which i didnt like as much as the big room but would still consider it.so my question is does anyone have any suggestions for a place when your max is 150 people and if anyone has gotten marriedin the smaller room at fox hollow how ws it.. thanks so much

OMG, we have the same date, & we too have a smaller party, we am booked at Larkfield Manor, but as for the Fox Hollow we looked there & I hated the smaller room down stairs & when I told the guy that he told me that we could have our recp. in the room with the waterfall... that room I loved!!!! They would have the cocktail hr. in the 2 smaller rooms & that was what I was going to do. Did they give you that option... if not call & go see it again how they would set it up for a diff. layuot.

I must rephrase:
Beautiful room, just not my taste. LOL!
My cousin is getting married there next friday & what his Fiance has chosen color wise has really made it much brighter, it was very dark for me.

Hey i'm getting married in Nov 09 and we had the same approximation about 150 people ...

we are getting married at Leonard's in Great Neck... great prices, the room we are getting married in has a 135 minimum ... great place

The other place for a smaller minimum and similar prices ... Larkfield Manor in Northport which i believe you would be able to have an outside cocktail hour there and Venetian Yacht Club in Babylon but not as nice honestly

Can't you have your wedding in the mid sized room at Fox Hollow on a Friday night for that many people?

Stewart Manor Country Club.... their minimum is only 100. We loved it!

Hi! Congrats on your engagement!! I booked at the Crest Hollow--their minimum on a Friday night is 125--hope that helps-

I have about 100 people and every place that we looked at had a small room. We booked at Leonards, but Chatue La Mer had a room for, so did Terrace on the Park and Russo on the Bay. HTH

once again thanks again for all your help,i have a few more to look at this week but if im not sure bout them i am going to book fox hollow in the briar fox room..anyone getting married there too?or gotten married there?how was dancing there?i loved the room my only concern and i know this might seem strange to others but the dance floor was narrow rather than wide was it ok ?
