just found out when my shower is. UPDATED w her RESPONSE...

i was SO excited about it being a surprise. i just got an email from a friend asking me if i wanted to go out for my bday the night of my shower since my shower is the saturday after my bday. and then in parenthesis she gave me kind of a whoops...i hope your shower isn't a surprise 'lol' and if it is oh well pretend i didn't tell you.

i never had a surprise party before and i was really excited that this was going to be one. and i'm hurt that she's so whatever about the whole thing. i don't know why she would do that to me. i just hope none of the girls in my BP finds out i know since they've been working so hard to keep it a secret...maybe she told me b/c she's mad she's not in the BP. whatever the reason, i'm so angry right now.

this is what she wrote...sorry but i'm getting more mad b/c she obviously knew she shouldn't tell me...so why the F did she?!?!

'your bday is that week and then your bridal shower (i really hope you know about it, i hope its not a surprise lol and if it is, pretend like i never said anything) anyways, then i know your bridal shower is the weekend after your bday....so i dont know when you wanna go out, lemme know =)'

*****UPDATE...so last night i left her a VM and this morning she wrote me a text telling me she feels stupid now and will NOT BE COMING TO MY SHOWER!!!! but it wasn't an apology, it was more like she was mad that i was upset! threatening not to come now?? i would NEVER do that to her!!

oh well, i'm just gonna forget it now and hope she comes. and if she doesn't there is nothing i can do about it i guess.

at least i can be excited...my shower is in less than 2 weeks!!! yay!!

I am so sorry mine was ruined too and I know how you feel trust me i went through the same emotions but the day of you'll forget all about it and just have an amazing time

You should definitely tell your other friends, so that they get on her for blowing the cover.


i kind of want to but i don't want to spoil everyone's fun of making it a big surprise. they've been really excited that i didn't have a clue...i don't want to ruin it for them too.

I understand you not wanting to spoil it for your other friends who put so much time and effort into it. But honestly do what feels best for you. Like I said, a nice little toast would do fine LOL

I did the same thing, i didnt let others know that i knew, i know how much it meant for certain ppl to keep it a surprise and why ruin it for them too. I also didnt know where it was and that was a HUGE surprise to me, so although i knew when i got there it was like OH WOW, that will be an interesting ride there trust me. I got in the car knowing it was my shower and then when FH got on the highway i was like HMMMMM why are you taking this way i thought i knew where it'd be and then he didnt get on the highway to where i thought it was, and then when we got off the exit i was so confused, i was like where the F*CK is my shower i have no clue. I kept thinking of all the possibilities in that neighborhood and everytime i thought of places he kept driving in the opposite direction or right past it and i was clueless. So you still have some element of surprise and that will be fun and interesting as you drive there.

Yup, i had the best time and as far as my time at the shower, it didn't ruin anything. Once you walk in and see everybody waiting for you all excited and all the things ppl did for you and the work they put into it, you'll get emotional. Alot of ppl really thought i was surprised bc i started shaking but it was just bc i got so emotional hahaha.

yeah dont be upset, i mean be annoyed at your friend for doing that but dont think your shower is ruined or anything like that. I felt the same way, i REALLY wanted it to be a surprise so i was crushed at first, but it all turned out great.

I think you should tell your friend that you didn't know about it and wanted it to be a surprise...also let her know that you'd like her to keep it quiet that she said something to you. As Denise said, many of your family members are all excited that it IS a secret and want you to be surprised..it would stink if anyone found out you know...you know?

LOL At least you were able to get ready the way you wanted to lol I don't know when mind is, but I have a feeling that when it gets closer and I'm invited some random place that I might know.

i totally know how you feel...my FSIL came out and said 'you know youre going to know when your shower is' cause my FMIL will be flying up from florida..and she is constantly asking me where I want to have it and what favors I want etc etc..I had to tell FH and my mom and MOH to tell her to please stop...that I want it to be a surprise!!!! ***?

Absoltuley right - your emotions need to be out and things need to be recognized and known

Your invites have been out and more than likely said surprise.

True, some people dont think before they speak, I am one of them, however, how many more times will you have this, and when you think about it, It means alot to EVERYONE that you were surprised.

Get support from your family and friends and its ok to be bummed. And I would definitley talk to her. Unfortunatley - as much as it suucks, I hope its one of those things thats probably an oops oh sh!t kinda moments....and theres not going to be much in the form of a satisfaction resolution. Sh!t happens - sigh!

Although, she did acknowledge she shouldnt be writing it in the email, bc she said she hoped you didnt know,a nd then not to say anything that she told you....if i was writing that, i would have just erased it....durr! Dum. Dum.

jeanette i am so sorry!!! sounds to me like she is jealous of you! That is so horrible that anyone would do that. I understand these days alot of girls know about their showers but cmon!!!! if you are not 100% sure dont open your mouth!!!!!!!. i would definatly let her know she ruined the surprise and that you are upset about it!!
