Just got back from my first Nutrisionist appointment

It was sooooo great. The woman Patty was so nice and easy to talk to. She weighed and measured me, she gave me a shopping list of things to buy. She even planned out my meals for the next week. I learned so many things in the 1 hour. So many things that I thouhgt I was doing good was the complete opposite.

This is a ten week program and I meet with her once a week. She said my goal is absolutely obtainable and I should have no problem succeeding.

Sexy, hot, wedding pics here I come

Re: Just got back from my first Nutrisionist appointment

That's so exciting, Jessica!!!! I often wonder what kind of diet a nutritionist would put me on, because I'm
Diabetic, therefore very little sugar, and protein
I have another medical condition, that limits just about every fruit as well as yogurt, and other foods.
I'm lactose intolerant
I don't do well with salad.
I can't stand Lean Cuisine etc. anymore!!
I like basic recipes, nothing fancy, and it has to be quick, grab and go food!!!
I don't mean to sound negative; I'm just very frustrated!! And I have a medical background, but that doesn't always mean I know what to do!! Mary MOB

Any nutritionists in the house, with answers??

Re: Just got back from my first Nutrisionist appointment

Okay, while my chicken is cooking.

She wants me to eat 6 times a day. She said I was starving myself and eating all the wrong things which is why I became ravenous sometimes and ate everything in sight.

She said the trick is not to count calories but to stay away from trans fats and saturated fats. Never anything fried.

The plan she put me on is this

when you first wake up you should dring a big glass of water with lemon juice in it. It has antioxidants that will help start your day off right.

For breakfast she wants me eating oatmeal and I can have my cup of tea.

Morning snack is either a yogurt, some walnuts, or a few fieces of swiss cheese. She said I need more protein.

Lunch should be either tuna or chicken and it could be in a salad or on whole grain bread. I can also have a small snack with lunch like some raisins or an apple.

Important fact********** She said I should not eat whole wheat but whole grain breads and pastas.

Afternoon snack is a banana which is right before I head to the gym. She also said that you should eat a good carb within 45 minutes of your work out. So when my workout is over she suggested to eat one of those Zone Bars.

Then its dinner and this is where I need to get a lot of my vegetables, she said more chicken or fish and even the whole grain pasta is okay in moderation.

Last is my nightly snack and she showed me these amazing vegetabel chips that are bbq flavored. She said salsa is a good snack or natural peanut beuuter (Not the jiffy kind)

I went to the food store and spent $150 and am really looking forward to starting a new lifestyle. I g back next Monday.

By the way, she is located in Lindenhurst and her company is called Healthy Weigh
