Re: just moved to syosset...a few questions
I work in Syosset. I go to a salon on South Oyster Bay Road called Solo. I LOVE it there. I have only gotten my hair done there, but downstairs they do nails, facials, massages, etc... Hope this helps.

Dakota on Jericho TPK is great for hair, nails etc. In the Woodbury Commons shopping center there is a great restaurant called Bang.

OMG! We lived at Marios!!! Or they were always delivering to us. (We lived in Woodbury for a couple of years.)
You should check out Graffiti in Woodbury Common. I believe they have a tanning salon in there too. I haven't checked out Baang yet, but that place always gets great reviews.

I'm a Syosset High grad if you want to know anything about the schools. :o) I have lived in Massachusetts for about 5 years now, but my parents and in-laws are still there so I visit.
IMHO On Parade is the best diner in the Syosset-Woodbury area. On the subject of pizza, Mamma Sbarro's 'Grandma' Slices are delicious! For bagels, Gabby's Gourmet --- I bring back a dozen each time I visit!
Sorry I can't help with hair/nail places.

Oh Yea...On Parade is one of the best diners!!! My FH grew up in Woodbury and FMIL is still there so we are out there all the time. Jildor in Woodbury Commons is great for shoes...I just got two pairs last weekend.

Tammy!! Do not miss out on Mims! It's a resturant located on Berry Hill Road right at the split with Split Rock Road - it's on the right side in the first shopping plaza- it has everthing from salads, pizzas, pastas, entress, fish, meat, chicken, etc. It's constantly delicious - beware, it can get packed on the weekends but a drink at the bar numbs the pain of the wait!

Tammy - cross the train tracks and at the first light make a right so that the Amaco station is on your left - at the split bear Right to Berry Hill Road and it's on your left right next to the Dairy Barn. The first place in that first plaza on the left. It's open for lunch and dinner!
