where did you end up getting your lehngas from? i got mine while i was in india but saw some really pretty ones in edison and a couple in hicksville.

i ordered bridesmaid dresses for the ceremony from india- my mom's friend just brought them back. they are such idiots! we told them specifically and numerous times to make them exactly the same. the guy who did it made 2 the same and 3 in another style! for 2 of them, he put the detailing work of front of the blouse on the front and the back! the other 3 are plain. 2 have hooks that close in the front and the other 3 you pull over your head. it's hard to describe. i've taken pictures- i need to get them developed.

so i am not sure how to fix this. my mom suggested wearing the chuni over it to hide it but i wanted them to wear the chuni in a different way.

we don't want to risk sending them back- bc they may send back the wrong color or design or it may not come back at all.

hmmm... That's tough. In answer to your question - My mom is in Bangladesh right now buying the stuff, so I have to wait for her to come back to actually see it! As for your bridesmaid dresses, ummm... I would be nervous about sending them back too. Can you contact the tailor and ask them to make more of the design that you like (and send pictures)? Or maybe you can go to Jackson Heights/Hicksville/edison and see if you can find similar ones for your bridesmaids? Be warned, Jackson Heights is not cheap! You might not be able to get exact matches, but you might get close enough for it not to make a difference.

do you know any good tailors in the area who could work on them? this happened to someone else i know who ordered from india. she called them up and sent them back and they came back fixed. but that was from an actual store in india so i'm not sure if its the same in your case. try to really bug them .. and if it doesnt work i guess you'll just have to get them altered to match.

we wound up not going to india so i bought my outfits here (in california). oh and for the NY reception my FMIL brought me a lehnga from india.
