tomorrow my DH has surgery -- its a routine thing i guess, he's having his deviated septum fixed. they have to put him under anesthesia, break his nose, and then shave off some excess cartilidge and straighten the septum out. i know the doc does this type of thing all the time -- but i can't help but be alittle nervous for my hubby.

so keep a good thought for him tomorrow morning!!!

Good Luck! I am sure everything will turn out ok. I had this surgery a few years back and while it was very nerve-wracking, in the end it was a pretty easy recovery. Make sure you get him lots of chapstick (as you breathe through your mouth only for days afterwards)

Oh man....I had that done in March and it was one hell of a surgery!!!(they also did my turbinates & built up my nasal passages so i could breathe) I am usually not a cry baby about pain...but i was noooot a happy camper!!! The first nite i had to sleep upright in a chair...good luck to you & DH tomorrow!!! My prayers are with you guys!! On a positive note....i have not been sick since the surgery!! I used to be sick like every other month!

you poor thing! my sister had a surgery like this done last year---plus she had her tonsils taken out at the same time. she was miserable

i just will be happy that he will FINALLY be able to BREATHE! its one of those things that we take for granted sometimes. since the day i met him, he's had this issue and i always told him that he probably broke his nose years ago and never realized it. he thought i was crazy. when you look up his nostrils--you can actually SEE the excess cartilidge in his left on pushing out compared to the other side. he only knows how to breathe thru his mouth and is always breathing heavy, can't fully close his mouth when he eats, constantly needs chapstick (cause of the air always hitting his lips as he breathes), and SNORES like no body's business. after tomorrow i know he'll be in great shape.....its just the process to get there that sux!

I was in good shape 3 months later for the wedding (thank god) since my nose is already big to begin with & my fear was that swelling wouldn't go down in time!( i didn't get a nose job...would've liked bigger boobs though!) haha..i never realized that you should be able to breathe well thru your nose..as a kid the idea of being kidnapped & having your mouth duct taped scared the crap out of me! But it is a WORLD of difference now!!! Your DH will be jumping for joy....after the pain & swelling goes down...haha...but that's what pain killers are for! It'll be tough seeing him when he comes out....so be prepared...this was me the morning after!!! So sexy!! hahaha...
