I noticed an older West Indian Bride Thread from 2010. I was wondering are there any current Caribbean Brides getting married this year or Next Year?

I soo want to do a Photo Booth. My FH kissed his teeth and said it's a waste of time. But my cousin had it at hers and we had a blast! Everyone went in the booth and took pics and it's a great souvenir for the bride and groom.
You don't have to give out additional favors if you don't want to. The weddings I've attended usually give out the cake with other small favors. I'm giving out additional favors with the cake. It's totally up to the couple. If I could, I would get my Mom to make some wicked sorrell and bottle those bad boys up and give them out. But that's too much work! ;o)

Thats a great idea. I know some people did it with rum punch.... Great thought and cheap... lol you can do that ahead of time too... I'll bring it up but I don't think my american side would like it.

Ooh love me some rum punch too! The last time I had some was at my cousin's wedding last year in Ocho Rios. I think the Rum Punch idea is great as well! :o)

I am doing favors in addition to the cake. My FH vetoed my photobooth idea. He thinks it's a waste of time & money.

My hubby-to-be said the same thing about the Photo Booth. He said the money I want to spend on the Photo Booth can go towards our honey moon! LOL

Yes I want a photobooth too but FH is thinks its a waste. lol. The black cake will be in addition to favors. We have a lot of non- west indian friends so they may not like. i'm not even a big fan of it but it is tradition and will make my family happy.

I totally understand. I have some non-West Indian friends as well, so that's why I was thinking of having a nice variety of cupcakes for their sweet tooth. I'm panning out ideas as we go along.

Hi all! I never post on here but figured I had to represent :). 2013 Jamaican bride Haitian groom. I am doing black cake and Haitian cake in the same box (my box is huge) as a favor. My mom thinks I should do more but I am not into spending money on things people throw away. Wish I could do a photo booth but that's out of my budget.

Sa Passe Sistren! Welcome to the board and congrats on your wedding! Yeah it seems like most of our FH is not feeling the Photo Booth idea. I think it's the pricing of some of the packages.

Greetings Sistren! Thanks a nice mix. My FH's cousin just married a Haitian groom as well. I'm loving the Caribbean mixes on this board.
Good point about people throwing away things you may put so much time and effort doing.

Nap boule!!! Thanks!!! Kremas is a creamy alcoholic drink made with rum and coconut.
