I started WW last Saturday. Very happy to report that I lost 4.4lbs week one
In conjunction with losing the weight, I really need to tone up what I have (esp my lower body). I have the typical Italian women's body - small waist, and big a$$ hips (good birthing hips my grandma always said). Since I'm not giving birth anytime soon - I really need to slim these bad boys down.
I'm pretty good with sticking to the WW plan - if I'm prepared. I always try to leave for work with a few pieces of fruit for snacks and something for breakfast. I have essentially given up my 16oz 7-11 coffee habit which I'm happy with.
My biggest downfall is exercise. I can't stand it!! I belong to a gym (haven't been in months), bought the Firm videos (love them, but they're like Chinese torture so I'm not consistent with them), and I also bought the Windsor Pilates tapes (still in the cardboard box they came in).
I'm hoping the impending wedding and HM and all the support you guys give will be the kick in the a$$ that I need. I put a pic of my dress on my laptop computer, and whenever I need that extra push to avoid the vending machine, I look at it!! So far, so good!!!!
Alrighty, guess that's about it for now!! Tomorrow is a new day!! Good luck ladies!!

Karen Sounds like you def have the motivation--- Great first week you had-- very similar to mine--I started last Fri and have lost 5 lbs in my first week-- I think it is the determination to prove that I can do it -- For me I like that I have to be accountable and keep track of it all-- Good luck and keep thinking about the end goal Laura

Hi Laura -
I think it's the fear of the disapprovingly look on the WW women's face that keeps me going. Today I was super-bad (got stuck working and we ordered in food - not good). Hoping to get back on the wagon tomorrow!
Congrats on your loss!! That's awesome!! Keep it up!!

DH and I were discussing the disapproving face today!! I was explaining the difference between meetings and online--he thought both were free (duh?) those free registration commercials really got him i guess!!! I like online cause I can constantly keep track and the calculator doesnt allow me to cheat Start again tomorrow and dont think about today!!! Laura

Congrats onthe 4.4#!! Thats a lot of weight to lose in one week!!
I am the same way about exercise. Do you have someone you can work out with? That's always been helpful for me.

Hi Christine -
I definitely need a work-out buddy. FI just moved in, and he's bringing his bow-flex thingy - hoping that will motivate me!!!
This week has not been good. Been stuck working 14-15 hour days - so every meal has been ordered in. Hard to stay healthy that way If I can get out of work early enough to get to the GTG, I'm just going to let myself enjoy the meal. Saturday's weigh in is not going to be good, so I'll get back on track next week when my work hours go back to normal (hopefully)!!!
Hope you guys are doing good!!!

Re: Karen32's Log
Karen- I've had to order in a few meals too- which totally is blowing my plans out the window. Yesterday, I worked a little late and decided to order something different from everyone- salad w/ chicken. Not exciting, but I'm scared that if I fall off the wagon, I won't get back on.
Congrats to you both for losing your first week- I hope I can report the same soon!!!

Re: Karen32's Log
The results of weigh-in #2 - I stayed the SAME!!!
Trying to tell myself that's a good thing - worked every day last week (incl Saturday and Sunday) and we always, always ordered in Italian. I am kinda suprised that I didn't gain - but I think I was smart - always tried to have a salad for lunch when working late was inevitable.
My biggest change has got to be my intake of fruits and veggies. It wasn't until I started logging that I realized I would go DAYS without any fresh stuff. I do find myself making healthier choices, which I think is a good thing!!

Re: Karen32's Log
The mere fact that it took me about 5 minutes to find this log is not a good sign
Let's see two weeks ago - I gained .8lbs I didn't make it to weigh-in this past Saturday - I woke up with a horrible migraine. I am DEFINITELY returning this Saturday. I have tried to be good, but with tax season kicking in - it's very hard! But I keep looking at that photo of my wedding dress, and that is (hopefully) all the inspiration that I need!!

Woo-hoo!!! Weighed in Saturday morning - down 3.4lbs!!!!!! That brings my total weight loss to 7 lbs!! I would like to lose another 8, which the WW leader thinks would be perfect!!!
I am back on the wagon, and I hope to stay there!!!

Re: Karen32's Log
This past week's weigh-in - not good - gained 1.2lbs Given the fact that both Monday and Tuesday we each ate 12pts worth of cinnamon rolls - I guess 1.2lbs isn't that bad!!!
WW leader set my goal weight - have just another 5.6lbs to go. I think my goal weight could be a little lower, but I'll get to this one and then reasess!!!
Was good yesterday - came in 1 point under!!!
I will start a new thread for today's food (with a goal weight somewhat within reach - I'm super motivated!!!

Hey Karen! Good for you on all the work you are doing. I was curious which FIRM tapes you are using. I started a few weeks ago with the 'FIRM Basics' and have been able to keep to a 3x a week schedule. They are beginner tapes, so they don't torture me but are a good workout. I don't think I could handle their regular tapes, but its something I'm working up to!

Re: Karen32's Log
Hi Valenia -
I bought the FIRM stuff off of the infomercials - I got the cardio-sculpting tape, the ab-sculpting tape and the body-sculpting tape, plus the 2 part 'Fanny Lifter (step)'. The videos are soooo hard - I lent it to my MOH to try - she returned it after 2 days. If you stick to it - they definitely work, I just have a hard time sticking to it. I bought the Windsor Pilates tapes, I think I'm going to give that a try.
Good Luck!!!
