Keeping Wedding Cards

Keeping Wedding Cards

For past brides, does anyone have any idea on how to archive, scrapbook, keep or save their wedding cards in a crafty way? Is there a thread on that at all?

I've received some really beautiful cards and would really love to save them in some presentable way... Any ideas?

Use for Decoupage - Cut out pictures and use to decoupage onto small boxes, frames, tables, etc... arrange the pictures on wood plaques for the walls. Maybe make some magnets from the cut-out cards. That way, you will save some space but still have the memory of the card. And you will be displaying your memories rather than piling them in a box where you never look at them. Or just file them or make a scrap book

I am not that crafty (although at times I am) but for these cards all I can think of that I might do is make a collage and frame it for the hallway. It probably won't be something I will have displayed forever though. I also like the magnet idea above. hmm.

What about getting a scrapbook and attaching the backs of each card onto the pages, that way they still can open and you're not cutting up your cards? You can decorate the surrounding white space with stickers and scrapbooking things to fill up the empty space.

This is a good question, b/c I'm still not sure what I'm going to do with ours when we receive them.

I have all our RSVPs so far, and some people wrote some very sweet things on them, and I want to save them too. They're in a pile right now, awaiting a moment of inspiration as to how to save them in a memorable way.

Thanks for this post. I was just wondering the same thing the other day and thought about posting it I like the idea of scrapping the backs of cards and magnets, although some of them might be too big for the fridge. If we have a tenth annvirersary party then I could display the scrapbook (hopefully the same people that were our wedding guests will be there lol )!!

Actually I saved all the RSVP's too! For the time being, I've filed all the RSVP's along with the cards for the same person by alphabetical order. It seems like the most feasible thing to do because of the large quantity of cards is to somehow make a large scrapbook of some sort. I like the idea of attaching the back of the card on a page and then decorating around it. I wonder if there is a store that sells expandable scrapbook albums!
