Closing was completely smooth! an hour and a half of signing our lives away! Other than that it was easy! But be forwarned, it was SOOO anti-climatic! You give them a lot of checks worth a lot of money and they try to explain everything to you (it makes sense at that moment, but last night FH and I didnt know where our closing costs were accounted for) and then you leave, with a handshake and a congrats and we'll call in a few days to let you knwo when we are out! At least thats our situation, our couple closed on their new house a few hours after our closing so they are currently in the process of moving so we dont take possession until Saturday night! So we dont have keys and we really dont feel like homeowners!

But we are really excited! WE are going to buy paint and cleaning supplies this weekend so Sunday we can start working on our home! We wont move in until after the wedding though. so we still have a lot of time until that! BUt its exciting knowing we own a home!

Our RE agent did give us a bottle of champagne which was a nice thought! We were also lucky b/c our lawyers were too funny! There was a lot of joking, story telling and laughing going on while the papers were flying around so that made it go quicker!!!

When are your closings scheduled for?

I'm glad it all went ok. You girls will be the first to know when I get my closing date. I am on vacation next week so I can either be relaxing or painting. Were your closing costs close to your good faith extimate ones?

Ours is Tuesday. Did you have to bring certified checks? What exactly do you bring?? I am SO nervous I will forget something.

our closing was at our bank, so after signing our name 1,000,000 times we walked to the desk and got bank checks for the money!

You have to bring proof of identification, proof of homeowners and yourself! Although we brought our inspection stuff and the survey and basically everything we had on the house, just to be on the safe side! We were also asked to bring 2 pay checks each but they never asked for anything except teh homeowners and our licenses.
