Is anyone else not inviting children? If so, should the STD or invite specify that children are not being invited? How does this get worded? I really don't want to sound mean...

Re: Kid ??
We're only having kids from the family... b/c we just can't afford to have EVERYONES children. So the families that we are only having the parents, we'll just be addressing it 'Mr. & Mrs.'
If some reason they ask if they can bring their kids, we are going to say 'Yes'. So we're not strictly enforcing it.

Re: Kid ??
like the above posters stated, just putting mr and mrs is no children. you can indicate adult reception on the invite.
the STD's you can adress the same way but i wouldnt indicate any wording like that on the actual STD

Re: Kid ??
we r not inviting kids...we'd have 16-20 kids if we did. So, we will be writing:
Mr and Mrs. John Smith- not including family. We also made sure both our families know that kids will not be included.

Re: Kid ??
state on the invitation adult reception to follow. You can put Mr. & Mrs. Last name only (w/o family) on the envelope, but some people may assume their kids are invited (this happened to someone i know) so you may be safer by writing the adult reception part on the invite
