Not to be rude, but how do you tell your siblings they can not bring their children? I mean I know babies crying and little kids running around is annoying, but I can't imagine telling the only people I want to celebrate my day with me that can not bring their children, because they are family too.

I don't think it's rude at all. Everybody has a different view of what their wedding should and shouldn't be. Things such as cost sometimes play a huge roll in it. If I didn't have family coming from out if the country this wouldn't be an issue - I would have a no kid wedding. I also have no problem telling my siblings no to their kids, just like I would understand them saying no to me when their time come. Sometimes it just is what it is :)

Just like you can't imagine NOT having those kids at your wedding, I can't imagine HAVING them at mine. If my siblings had kids I would ask them to respect my wishes by not bringing their kids. I love my Godchild but she won't be at the wedding and her parents are more than ok with it and I consider them to be family. You just hope that your family loves you enough to respect your wishes, whether or not they agree with them.

Kid free or kid friendly wedding?

FH & I are including children. My niece & nephew are ring bearer and flower girl and I also have 4 half siblings (2 sets of twins) who are 6 and 3. I don't feel it is right to just have them plus the other kids we invite they are a bit older so the youngest at the time would be 3 and I know are well behaved. I am not too worried about it. Plus FH LOVES kids so he wouldn't want it any other way! To each their own!!

No kids! They are not going to be at our wedding, our wedding is no place for them. My youngest cousin will be 14 and she will be the youngest person there. We do have 1 out of state couple that has 2 kids and if they feel like they can't leave their kids with another family member or friend than that's their issue.
It may sound harsh but it's my day and we don't want kids there. Even though we love our friends kids they won't be joining us.

This is exactly how I feel.

I'm a nanny, I'm around kids all day long, every time I'm at a party I can't turn off that instinct to watch and make sure the kids are safe. I don't want to be dealing with that on our special day.
