anyone know what the going rate is these days as far as a gift goes? I havent been to one probably since i was 13 or so. Its my neighbors son, we arent overly close with them but i see them just about every day and we do neighborly things for each other all the time. Any idea?

I give about the same as a wedding, just a little less. I'd give b/w $250-$300 (for a couple). So $125-$150 per person if you aren't that close to the family.
