I reallly wanted a birdcage veil but my mom was so against it that I went traditional. I ended up picking out a mantila (sp?) veil at a Bridal Reflections trunk show. Well I got it home a few weeks ago and I hate it (and it was soo not cheap!). I keep wishing that I would have gotten the birdcage veil like I wanted, but I spent wayyy to much on this other veil not to use it.

personally..i lovee mantilla veils depending on the style of dress. however, if you are really set on the birdcage then u should explain to your mom that you really invision yourself with it. its your day..mothers don't always agree with our decisions, but they should accept them

I agree with the other girls, take pics with both of them. But personally, you should wear what you want for your wedding. My mom gives me her opinions all the time, but she also says, it's your wedding so do what you want. Does your mom know how much you dislike the mantilla veil?

I think a mantilla is nice for a ceremony, because it's very traditional, but a birdcage is a little funky, so it's perfect for the party!
If you can find a reasonably priced birdcage, I say go for it and wear it for the reception.

Its your wedding & you have to be completely happy with everything! Try to sell it and get the one that you really like... Just tell your mom you werent 100% happy with it...
Maybe post it on here, someone might be interestd in buying it from you!

Why not try to sell it...I am sure someone on here needs what you have and then get the birdcage..I am going with a birdcage and I have to say it looks so elegant and dramatic!!! And while I dont want to cause a fight but I think if you told your mom that you have your heart set on the birdcage and that it is your day maybe she will be understanding.
