Thanks girls for all of your advice - So far so good - the older cat stopped hissing and swatting at me and is kind of minding her own business. Right now we are keeping the kitten in a small bathroom because he is soooo tiny that we are afraid he will get hurt loose around the house. We have been playing with the kitten in the bathroom and giving him lots of attention. He seems to like being held and pet, but he is still soooo freightened. He trembles like crazy and hides. He hasnt eaten or gone to the bathroom yet and its been more than a day! Hopefully he will come around soon.
Thanks - He is absolutely adorable! I just wish he wasnt so afraid of us right now! But I guess that is expected

We did the same thing when we got our little kitten. We were told by the vet to let them get to know eachother through the door first, meaning keep them sererate. Let them sniff eachother from under the door and to watch them when they were both out together. Our first kitten was NOT happy...but the kitten loved her so much and he just wanted to lay with her all day, he was such a mush. We had to put him down 6 days before his 1st birthday though I'm sure cat #1 will get used to the baby after a while...at least she stopped hissing!

aww what a cuite pie, theyre so fragile when theyre little, thats how my dog was, we actually put a bell on him so no one would step on him hahahaaaa

Yea - his name is Tobie - we have a bell on his collar too - our bathroom is sooo super tiny and it took us 20 min to find him this morning...he was hiding under the baseboard heater behind a shelving unit! So imagine how long it would take us to find him in the house!
