Kleinfelds

Re: Kleinfelds

I was a little hesitant to go there based on some negative feedback but I could not have been happier. I worked w/ Audrey and I highly recommend asking for her. She was great! They were not pushy at all, showed me dresses in ALL price ranges (starting under $1K!). Maria M. was my fitter and she was amazing as well. I had a slight issue after I picked up my dress (tried it on when I was home and for some reason it was too big) and they were great about it. They took me in on a Saturday (craziest place in the world on a Sat!) and worked with me until my dress fit perfectly. They also honored an expired corporate discount that I had. I could site lots of examples but I wanted to reply b/c I was equally as hesitant but ended up having an AMAZING experience.

If you get a woman named Rosario RUN......I liked a dress there and She tried to pressure me into buying it. Also she was so lazy and didnt have any ideas at all. They do have a huge selection. Also you could try to go to Amsale, Vera Wang and Saks suprisingly they do have affordable dresses there and the service was great at all three places. Good Luck you will love it

I had a fantastic experience at Kleinfeld's and ended up getting my dress there. I think everyone's experience is different, no matter where you go. Definitely give it a shot and let us know how it goes!

I had a WONDERFUL experience there!! I worked with Emo (consultant #292). She found the perfect dress and made sure to stay within my price range.

Good luck!!

Re: Kleinfelds

I can't fathom going to a place where they turn their nose up at you if you don't have a particular budget.

At first when my SIL went there they were flocking to help her out then once they learned her budget is closer to 1000 for a dress they immediately got snotty and couldn't get away from her fast enough.

Needless to say, she didn't end up buying her dress there.

I dont blam her, If I'm to pay 1500 and up for a dress they better be washing my feet and feeding me champagne and caviar too!

Sorry but I'm not paying 200-300 an hour to wear a dress that I'm only gonna have on ONCE in my life. :P

Hi Ladies,

I just went wedding dress shopping for the first day yesterday, and I visited Wedding Atelier and Kleinfelds with two of my friends. Wedding Atelier was great, but I had a horrible experience at Kleinfelds. A woman (who never gave me her name) ushered my friends and I into a room, fired questions at me about what I wanted without listening to my answers (and actually snorted when I said I was looking for dresses in the $3,000 to 5,000 range - I'm actually looking for much cheaper dresses, but was saavy enough to high ball).

Yesterday, for me, was really about getting an idea of what styles and cuts look good on me, (I'm 5'6', 120, no boobs) but the Kleinfelds' women only brought me five or six dresses, and when I tried on one I really liked, they had me take it on and off about eight times, despite the fact that the zipper was broken. When I asked to look around the store they took me to the back room (where all the dresses are shoved tightly together in plastic bags, and only other employees are present) in a gown that kept slipping off me. When my friends asked if we might browse around the front room, the answer was 'those dresses are too fancy for you.'

I am really disappointed by this experience, which included some pretty extreme scare tactics: you've got to buy this dress now, it's from a trunk sale, and will go up $700 in price if you don't buy it today, and it takes 11 months to order.... 11 months? I'm getting married in September, and feel like I have ample time! My mother lives in California, basically 3,000 miles away, and I'm just not going to buy anything without getting her approval!

Has anyone else has this kind of experience with Kleinfelds? I've always heard that it is the place to go, but now I'm wondering how it could have gotten that reputation. I'm 28 years old, and my friends and I were dressed in business casual clothes. Despite that, we were not only asked if we were college students, but treated like ruffians (for lack of a better word). I've never been so condescended to in my life.

I bought my dress at Kleinfelds and loved my experience. The woman I had help me was Judith. BUT....a few years ago I went with my friend to the brooklyn location. And I feel like they treated us differently because her mom wasn't with us. It's like they think you won't buy a dress without your mom and don't give you their best service.

I had a great experience with them... out of all the places I went to (RK Bridal, Saks, Reem Acra Salon) they were the best.

My saleslady didn't ask me for a budget but when I call to make the appointment, they did say something about their gowns being over a certain amt. The first time I went alone... narrowed down to 2 dresses... came back 2nd time to try on even more dresses and 3rd time to purchase dress. My saleslady was nice and not pushy at all... on one of the appts, she was running a bit late bc the girl before me was still trying on dresses... the saleslady came out to the waiting room to greet me and apologize.

They were also willing to budge on the price a bit... and I love the how they have models walking around the waiting area in beautiful gowns.

Re: Kleinfelds

I bought my dress at Kleinfeld's and I had a good experience with a woman named Rita Dato. She's a sales consultant-the one who helps you pick out your dress. She's a short attractive Italian lady who can sense your style and what would look nice on you right away. I went there twice to choose my dress because I actually ended up changing my mind. That wasn't her fault at all-I think i was too excited to pick a dress. It is an overwhelming experience being there. Just remember to keep trying on if you're not sure and you can always come back. Be honest if you don't like something on you just say so right away. But I would at least try something on if the consultant thinks it would look good on you. I never thought I would get a 2 piece dress.

They are there to help you. Good luck. btw you can request a salesperson and Rita was very good.
