Re: kleinfelds...
I bought my dress there and had the best experience.
My advice is bring a strapless bra with you and also if there are particular dresses you want to try on, get the style number so you can tell them or bring in pics.
I really have no cons, everything went well even the alterations and they were all great.

Hopefully they will, they have 1500 samples in the store, ask to go in the back to look at all of them. I didnt even ask and they let me look. Good luck
Oh and have an open mind, that is one big piece of advice i have. SOOOO many girls thought they knew what dress they wanted as far as style, but once they tried that style on, they realized it wasnt what flattered them most or didnt like it when they saw it on person, MANY girls said they ended up with something they never even thought they would and loved it.
Good luck and have an amazing time

$1k really? since when, i didnt pay that much for my alterations. The cap was $575 which i will say is higher than alot of places since most bridal stores cap it at $250-350. But the $575 did include bustle price which isnt bad bc most places do $250-350 just for alterations and then about $125-150 for bustle so kinda evens out.
actually i went on a weekend but i got the last appt and was GREAT!!!! i had 4:30pm on a saturday and they close at 6:00-6:30 and i was able to have a 2 hour appt since my salesperson didnt have anyone after me, after the 90 mins i did say oh no i have to finish up and she said not to worry and take my time bc i was her last appt. There were also only 2-3 other brides there when i was there. Well after i put a dress on i was on the main floor in the middle and there were only 2 other brides there and not even really near me. I think there were other girls but down the hall which i couldnt even see, i only realized ppl were there when they were leaving. This was also before the show ever came out so maybe thats why it was ALOT less crowded. I did go for alterations after the show came out but they weren't filming each time i went and also went on weekdays so wasnt crowded then either.

maybe it was the dress i liked though, because she had told me 575 + 10% of the dress price for the hem (maybe because it was scalloped?)which came out to about 1k

no bc all alterations are capped, no matter the type of dress that is the kleinfelds price. If you add things or do something different then yeah that is extra. I did something different to bottom of my dress and was charged extra for that

Re: kleinfelds...
I went there as my first place. I had a pretty good idea of what kind of dress I wanted, and it turns out that kind of dress looked TERRIBLE on me. And the lady who was helping me was really nice about it and said 'I'll bring you what you want, but let's try a few others that I think will look good on you'
Budget wise, they keep dresses in rooms based on price. If this is your first time out, maybe tell them you have a larger budget so you can see more types of dresses. The danger in this of course is that you can fall in love with a dress way out of your price range.
When I went, we were in a very busy spot. No privacy whatsoever. So, wear a strapless bra, and maybe some shorts

Re: kleinfelds...
i did not go to look at kleinfelds because i found a dress i loved else where.
a friend of mine did purchase her dress there so i can tell you what she told me:
pros: very helpful & knowledgable
cons: alterations are very expensive ($1,000), they are a little pushy, they make appointments in intervals of 15 minutes
another friend of mine went there & when she told them her dress budget they were very ruid to her. they flat out told her that she shouldn't have bothered to make an appointment & that she was a waste of their time.
