Kleinfelds Experience
So I went to Kleinfeld's tonight and had the BEST time dress shopping. Everyone is so attentive, and friendly. Although it was a really bad idea for me to go - especially alone when no one is there to limit me
So of course I found a dress that I love, but it's way more than I thought I would spend. How much is too much to spend on a bridal gown? I know it differs from person to person, but I just curious what people's opinions are.Updated ... this is the dress

Re: Kleinfeld Experience
So glad to hear you had a positive experience and found your dress.
I personally wanted around $1000, but also knowing that I might go up to $1500 with alterations and a possible higher price. I just can't imagine spending $5000 on a dress I'll only were once, but again, that's just me. I'm very happy that I found my dress that was in my price range as well. Good luck!

Re: Kleinfeld Experience
That dress is so gorgeous it looks expensive
In my mind I had a budget of $1,500 for a dress. My dress is actually $1450-$50 under budget. FH & I are paying for the entire wedding so I really couldn't afford more than that. Regardless, it 's not in me to spend thousands of $$$ for a dress. I would rather put the money towards something else like the HM.
It's really a matter of personal choice, what's important to you and of course budget. That dress is really beautiful though.

Re: Kleinfeld Experience
That's my problem - I'm not sure if I can justify spending that much money. I'm shopping again this weekend, so I'll see if I can find similar dresses. Initially I was looking at more A-Line dresses, but now that I tried on a dress that's more fitted I love it. We'll see - I change my mind every day
Thanks for the kind words ladies!

How much is to much?
Honestly, if you love it and can afford it I say go for it. Don't want to look back and keep second guessing yourself.
I have heard people spending $500 and people spending $5000. It is all about the individual person

Re: Kleinfeld Experience
that dress is stunning..my original dress was only $600 but i'm selling it because i don't love it anymore...at this point i really would love a dress from the designer Lazaro and his works go anywhere from 1500 and up...i'm willing to spend a little more because i plan on this being my only wedding and i want to look good the day of my wedding and want to be able to look back at my pictures and really enjoy them...plus i would want to give my daughter my gown...its up to her whether she wants to wear it or not but i would still give it to her

BAD INFLUENCES!!!!
I'm going to think about it a while. Before I knew you could find gorgeous dresses for under $1,000 I always thought it would cost me closer to what this dress costs - well maybe a little less, but close. I guess that's what killing me. However, I did notice they're having a trunk show for the designer (Kenneth Poole) in July, so maybe I'll wait for that if this really is 'The Dress' and see if I can get a discount. Has anyone haggled at Kleinfelds? Is that an option there?

Re: Kleinfelds Experience
Beautiful dress! Mine costed $740 without alterations-at the shop I went to it was $1020-I got it online cheaper. The $ I saved will go towards alterations and my veil. My FSIL spent $5000-and to this day she says she wishes she hadn't spent even half of that. She said she would rather of had the $ towrds their house. But whatever you like you should get-I would just call netbride and pearls place and get price quotes too. If they have the dress it should be considerably cheaper. Good luck!

Re: Kleinfelds Experience
i spent alot of money too at for my dress at Kleinfelds...it basically depends on how much you really want to spend on it and if you can get yourself to spend that mucheveryone has their own financial situations and if you are paying for your own wedding...spending 5k is not likely but if your parents and FH parents are paying for the most of the wedding...then why not spend more on a dress you completely love.
To each its own
there's no limit on spending money on a dress

Re: Kleinfelds Experience
that dress is breathtaking! Congratulations and I'm happy to hear u had a great experience at Kleinfeld's. Honestly, your question on how much is too much to spend on a bridal gown will definitely differ from person to person and that's normal. I got my dress from Reem Acra and spent a pretty big amount on it, but the dress was really important to me and I absolutely love it so I feel like the money is well worth it.

I was at Kleinfeld's last night also and I was by myself too! I found THE dress there. I never thought I'd find it there shopping alone, but I did! Around what time were you there? My appointment was at 5:30, but they took me in around 6.

Same exact situation! I was sitting at the chairs/table closest to the door. We may have been sitting right next to each other. There was a girl by herself in the chair next to me!
Congrats on finding a dress!
