My FI wants to have Krispy Kremes handed out at the end of the night as favors. We are probably going to do the candle name cards, so they will be able to take that home. Do you think that is a chezzy favor. The wedding hall said a lot of people are doing it and even having the cake made with krispy kreme. I draw the line there. But if this is what he really wants, I want to do it. I just dont want to be talked about

Re: Krispy Kreme
I rember Michele31 saying she was doing this for her wedding. Sonicstef would probably be a good person to ask since she was at her wedding. See what she says as far as the guets pont of view. I would love to do it but FI and my mother think it's not the greatest idea. We'll see.

I have definitely heard people do this. Don't worry about what your guests have to say. There will always be people saying something no matter what you give them. They should just be honored that you invited them to share your special day.

Im not sure how much they cost. I know they will deliver them to the hall so they are nice and hot. I believe they come in packages of 2 and 4.

Re: Krispy Kreme
We were thinking about doing the Krispy Kreme cake thing as the groom's cake. A few months back there was an article in People magazine about how popular Krispy Kreme's were as favors that the company was going to produce a brochure on all the options available to brides.
I remember reading that in some areas of the country, a Krispy Kreme truck sits right outside the door to the hall and gives out doughnuts and coffee.
We haven't decided what to do yet. Thought this might be fun to do, but we'll have to see how the budget looks once we've decided on everything else.

I love the idea. I am going to look into it as well. I might still do favors as well. Actually thinking of using frames for the placecards/favors and then having Krispy Kremes at the end of the night. Good Luck. MMMMM

Re: Krispy Kreme
I think its a good idea. I went to my friends wedding and other than the godiva chocolate and nice glass pitcher they gave out in the beginning of the wedding. On our way out of the catering hall to valet they had someone give out these personalized bags with a newspaper with a picture of them in the front, a pound of starbucks coffee and a box of dunkin donuts muchins. I thought it was nice and I was set for the next morning.

Re: Krispy Kreme
I was going to do the KC as favors but it's become so popular that it's expensive...
They have min. quanities. There is a $75 delivery fee. They are delivered the morning of the wedding at your reception site. There are NO personalized labels on the boxes- you have to pay a fee for that.
You can also get a truck, which was what I was going to do but they charge something like $100 for 1 hour with the truck.
you'd have to call them directly for the prices for the donuts..

Re: Krispy Kreme
I gave out Krispy Kremes- and everyone loved them. The thing is that they have a minimum that you must purchase and since they have gotten so popular their prices have gone way up. I gave out one 2-pack per person. The min. quanity was 150 boxes- 300 donuts. I gave one orginal and one choclate. The icing ones are not as good to give out since they sometimes get the icing stuck to the top of the box- that is what the Krispy Kreme women explained to me. I recommend calling them to get the latest pricing details.

Re: Krispy Kreme
Michele31 did do that. She was originally planning on giving out the donuts with a copy of Newsday which I thought was a kiss a$$ idea. For one, its a nice 'sunday morning' treat (paper and donuts). In the final few weeks some stuff came up and she she wasnt able to do the Newsday thing but decided to keep the donuts.
I think the paper & donuts make more 'sense' there is an obvious connection with getting them on your way out - sort of like 'have a nice sunday' sort of thing. So the donuts alone are sort out of nowhere...but most people seem to give favors that are completely arbitrary in relation to the wedding/location/other significant factor (i.e. a candle, an ice cream scoop, mikasa bowl, etc..) so its all a matter of what you prefer.
But the donuts alone were still a great favor because Im sure almost everyone enjoyed it! I doubt there were any left over that night.
In terms of details: Michele's hall had a member of the waitstaff at a large table near the door giving out individual boxes of donuts. I know Michele planned on putting stickers on the donuts but my box didnt have a sticker so we will have to wait til she returns to see what happened.
PS: I dont think the placecard candle is a favor. I mean: what will people do with a cande that has their name and table number printed on it after the wedding is over? More people than I expected took their candle at my wedding but I would imagine they would have thrown it out shortly after they got home.

Re: Krispy Kreme
Thanks, Well I was planning on getting candles as well as favors, as well as the name card candle holder. As far as the paper goes that is great but we are getting married on sunday night.

Re: Krispy Kreme
My sister made a Krispy Kreme wedding cake for us for our engagement party. It was soooo cute with a precious moments cake topper. I will try (if I get a scanner soon) to post a picture of it.
