Re: labels
i paid the same for invites. FH would've killed me if i hired a calligrapher so i used clear labels. Quick and easy

Re: labels
Honestly, if I spent that much on invites I would want it to look perfect. Some people find even clear labels to be tacky! Maybe try printing the addresses on the envelopes directly? Use a nice font and it will make it that much nicer.

i kind of agree with this too. did you use a vendor for the invitations like an actual store or did you buy them online? if you bought from someone and not from a website you may be able to negoitate a good rate for calligraphy. thats what we did we ordered while the vendor was having a promotion for free calligraphy, so we ended up spending a little more on each invite than we had budgeted but the calligraphy was thrown in which helped ease FH's mind, because he knew i'd want them professionaly written.

woo hoo! I didn't even notice!
And my first choice wouldn't have been clear labels obviously but I disagree that it's tacky. It wasn't worth the fighting with FH and time/money.
People who recieve my invite and critique every inch of it should stay home because they sure as hell are going to be the same people hating on anything and everything at the wedding

ITA!
We had our envelopes printed, but we had to do our own straggler envelopes. It's time consuming, but they came out beautiful
