no... that's the last weekend of summer for kids who are in school so i feel like you may have a lot of people say no due to last minute vacations or just getting ready for the new school year

My brother had his wedding the Sunday before Labor Day in 2007 and it was wonderful. Everyone was there who he wanted there.

Though you will probably get a great deal, I can see alot of people saying no because of vacations and such.

Just send out STD's so people know in advance since it's a popular vacation weekend.

i say go for it!
send out the STD's as soon as you can because that weekend is popular for some people going away for kids going back to school.

however, just as an FYI - if your gettin married on that Sunday, most RH will charge you Saturday prices since Monday is a holiday and most people have off. Just something to keep in mind

I'm going to a wedding this year on Labor Day Sunday!! I say yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! although I see why people might object bc its a long weekend and all....

i considered having mine that weekend but was told not to for these reasons...
#1 - anyone with children needs to prepare for them to go back to school after summer break
#2 - anyone that is traveling will be miserable. flights are more expensive that weekend plus they have the hassles and headaches of crowds at airports and also traffic.

my friend got married sunday before labor day last year in MA ... i liked it because FH and i drove up on saturday night and left monday so it was like a little trip for us

YES, that's when we're getting married. We sent out our STD magnets way in advance (back in September) and a lot of people are already planning to come. Noone works on Monday so it's like having it on a Saturday night. Unfortunately, the price isn't any less because its Sunday since it is Labor Day weekend but that could just be our venue.

i think great idea, but keep in mind if your family in friends are big party goers that wkend, but the important people will be there that what matters.. that wass my origanal date but decided to go with a friday in june

My thought is no.

I went to like 2 weddings the past 2 years on holiday weekeknds. One was last Labor day.

The travel is miserable and you cant make plans for the holiday weeekend.

SO do what you feel is right and what works, but IMHO its a pain to have to travel on a holiday weekend for a wedding.

Sorry, I'd say no... I am not a fan of holiday weekend weddings. Travel expenses are much higher for guests and a not everyone has off on Monday.

I will add though that if someone close to me did it I would of course be there.

I would say go for it. Anyone who is important to you will be there no matter what weekend it is. Just send out your STD very extra early and people will make whatever arragements they have to with kids, transporation and work that they have to
