YES YES AND YES!!! Go for it! and this is why...

1. the people who love you most will be there no matter what, just make sure you send out save the dates with pleanty of time.
2. you are probably getting a great deal and you should go for what your wallet allows for
3. what better way to celebrate the end of the summer then with an awesome wedding celebration (you know everyone loves a great wedding)

As long as I have the next day off of work, I don't mind at all. Just send out the STDs about a year in advance so people know not to book any vacays.

Donate feel bad maybe that's why our plates are SO high because according to my friends Sunday's are suppose to be cheaper. Once you book it can you still negotiate the plate prices? I love the place and the package it wonderful but i think she can come down on the price

We are considering the Sunday before Labor Day of this year, and realize it's a holiday weekend, but if we get our STD out within the next 3 weeks, will people really have plans already?

People keep telling me that they people that matter will come no matter what... i want to believe that.

i wouldn't mind going to a labord day w/e, i just think that there are ppl out there that would mind b/c it's the last w/e of the summer and ppl tend to go on vacas that time of the year. like what ppl have been saying, the ppl that carea bout you will come

I think you should consider how many OOT guests would be invited. I'm cursing my sister right now as I have to travel down to Maryland on Memorial Day weeekend for a function she planned. Sooooo not happy...

But if most people are local, it's a great way to save $$$ and turn your wedding into an 'event'.

I say if you wanna get married the Sunday of Labor day then do it! The people who matter will be there..I would have no problem going! And who ever doesn't like it shouldn't come--IT'S YOUR WEDDING!!! JMO

Yes, Def! That's when my day is and we sent out our save the dates was in advance and are sending out invites in a few weeks. It's a great day because no one works on Monday.

i'd say NO.

i want to spend the last days of summer with my niece/nephews before they go to school somewhere else. granted the party will be a blast but i'd prefer having a blast someplace else.

I'm sure I will get flamed for this as usual, but:

Having a wedding on a Holiday weekend really can put a lot of people out. First, there is the added cost of travel. Second, many people like to travel on labor day weekend -- and you know this. With so many weekends available every year, why pick one of the two most popular (along with memorial day) for travel. You will have to deal with people not coming because they either have plans or are selfish. Plus, a lot of people who would otherwise make plans won't be able to because they will feel obligated to come to your wedding.

Additionally, by making your wedding on Sunday night, smack in the middle of the weekend, you are *really* preventing people from making any plans.

I've always felt that part of being a good host/hostess is being respectful of your guests. Now, it's your wedding and you should do what makes you happy, but why start off by making such a controversial choice and pissing off quite a few of your guests.

In short, I'd pick a different weekend or have it on the Friday night before labor day.

I think it is a great idea especially if you have a lot of OOT guests. It can be a hard day to book...it was our first choice and the date was booked for 2 years at WM and we tried booking it in April of 2008 for Sept. of 2009

Id say yes to! But its def a rough decision bc you may have ppl who booked their vacation already so you may not get as many people coming as if you were to have it on a regular weekend. But at the same point its a Sunday so everyone can recover the next day and not worry about work! It would be also great if you have fam whose OOT - it would be an extra holiday to spend with them.

We had ours the Sat before Easter and it worked out great! We had fam from FL and bumbf*ck NJ in for the weekend and we got to spend the Easter holiday with them. When we prob wouldnt be seeing them until some random weekend in the summer.
