Hi ladies... I'm new here - and well not engaged YET! LOL i read these boards all the time, and I think you are ALL so awesome for helping eachother out!
I know that the engagement will happen soon, (it better) LOLOL hopefully before the end of this year! I have been with my BF for almost 4 years, and basically he is the type to get all of his ducks in a row before making the next step... well all is good, he bought his house and Im pretty sure it will happen soon!
Anyway - we have discussed our wedding and when the time comes I don't want to be a crazy bridezilla! I'm not like that anyway, just sayin... i know how weddings cause so much stress!
This will be my second wedding, his first -
If we can make this happen, I am planning on the end of 2011 -
We obviously want amazing food, great music and overall a beautiful and simple wedding!
As far as the guest list - I am planning on 100 - 125 people TOPS! basically family and close friends -
We probably will not get married in a church, so therefore need a reception hall with a nice ceremony room -
My top choice is Russos on the bay - EEK i know they are insanely expensive, but food is important to me, and Im not really sure who else will compare that's affordable? I also heard that the Inn an New Hyde Park is great, but $$$$$
Bottom line, we are Italian, with italian families and need some great Italian food!
My ideal budget is..... (dont laugh) .... approx $100 per head - I know thats ridiculously LOW these days, but we will be paying for everything ourselves and need to make it affordable.
I would love something like Thanksgiving weekend, or the first weekend in December -
I would consider a Friday or a Sunday if I had to - I also want to go with the whole 'winter wonderland' theme - so a place decorated for christmas would be awesome!
I guess my question is - is this Do-Able or am I dreaming??? Are catering halls negotiable these days or not so much?
I did see the 2011 RH price thread - but wondering if anyone has gotten additional quotes for Nov/Dec 2011
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you girls!
Anna

Re: Ladies help! Possible 2011 wedding?
I would second Chateau Briand. I've never been to a wedding there, but I was there for a sweet 16 years ago, and the girl was a huge italian family and the sweet 16 was like a wedding. Plus the location is good, not too far from queens.

btw the fresh mozz from there is amazing. years ago when I was engaged to someone else we went by there and he was joking how I love fresh mozz so much so they gave us some. too bad my prom was there and I just don't know about a wedding there too. though remembering the food I might just have to check it out prom was almost 10 years ago.
don't they have you come up through the floor too? or something like that.
