Ladies, I need Help!!

Please, I need advice.

I was laid off from my job and Husband and I are in the process of buying a house. We are in contract & have been approved for a mortgage already. WE will be locking in a rate by monday. I just wanted to know if I filed for unemployment, being the your SS# is involved, can the bank look into this before closing? Will it effect us going forward? I hope not. My husband is not worried b/c he's a finance guy & he says we are past that point, but I just wanted to ? it.

At closing, I believe you are required to sign something to the effect that things are the same as when you were approved. if you sign and it's not and they find out they could cause you problems. that's what I think because something similar happened to me and I was advised to not sign and do the paperwork all over again. so you might want to ask someone who might know but not connected to your process. maybe a lawywr on LIW might clarify in this thread for you.
