Lake Ronkonkoma

Has anyone been to or had a wedding at the Beach Club or Windows on the Lake in Ronkonkoma? Am interested in having my reception there.

I'm getting married at the Stewart Manor CC in two weeks. I booked with them back in Sept. 99 and got an excellent price. I would try them ...

Lake Ronkonkoma

If my memory serves me right Windows on the lake had a lot of negative reviews on this board. I myself went to both places and thought windows on the lake was nice but a bit to cramped if there is more than one wedding. The beach club was ok they really needed a touch up, they also were going to have construction over the summer to boost up the outside apearance. If you don't live too far from these places take a look, it doesn't hurt to compare and see what places are offering.

Good luck

You will find big variances in price depending on the time of year (Big bargains can be found in Jan - April) and day Friday night and Sunday afternoon are always less expensive than Sat. Also, when you talk about a price range of 50 -60pp remember tax and tip, sometimes places try to push a service charge rather than a tip which ends up costing more because its taxable in NY. We found that if you push on the service charge issue places will bend on it. We also found that we were able to negotiate on the tip % in places that say their standard is anything over 15%. It all adds up. Happy Planning!

Lake Ronkonkoma

Hi Jenn, I have actually seen a wedding done there on TLCs a Wedding Story. I live very close to ronkonkoma and was also considering having a wedding there. The one thing that I did not like, was they were having their wedding at sunset inside and the sun was shining right in their faces and in the audiences faces. There was also shading on their faces from the blinds. Im sure your wedding would be nice there, but keep in mind what time you do it. You may also be able to write to a wedding story and get a copy of the program. I think they sell them. It used to be on from like 2 - 4:30 with a baby story. Check it out. That would be the best way to decide. :) Amy

I'm sorry, Amy, but I thought that you were planning your wedding from Idahoe? I'm confused, you now say that you live near Lake Ronkonkoma.

Lake Ronkonkoma

I went to a wedding in September at Windows on the Lake and I had a great time. The food was good (even the cake :)!) I remember hearing some negative things about Windows on the Lake (I think it was regarding booking dates...you can do a search). But overall I thought the wedding was nice. They had the place to themselves. I think they had about 160 and it really wasn't cramped. I think it's definately worth a look :) GOOD LUCK!!

Lake Ronkonkoma

I am getting married Sept 23 at The Beach Club. It is a smaller and less formal than Windows on the Lake, which is why we chose it. We are having around 75 people and they won't look lost in the room at The Beach Club. The price we got was excellent, although we did book it more than 1 1/2 years in advance. It doesn't look so great in the winter, but when it is warmer with leaves on the trees it looks completely different. We went to Anthony's restaurant on Hawkins Avenue in Lake Ronkonkoma, which is also owned by the Windows people and the food was excellent. All of my experiences with them so far have been totally positive.
Im Jewish and my fiance is Catholic and our interfaith wedding is taking place on June 30 of 2001. Since my sister was married inj an interfaith ceremony back in 1995 i had some experience with this already. We searched for the priest that married my sister and since her wedding, he has become quite the icon in interfaith relationships. His name is Monsignoire James LiSante and i believe hes still over in Rockville Center. Since he was unable to perform our ceremony due to a previous obligation we asked him for a name of a cantor/rabbi and received the name of Cantor David Benedict whom he works with quite often. We also searched around for another priest and went by recommendation from a co-worker. The priest is Father Peter Dugandzig and even though we've never seen a ceremony performed by him, we've met with him a couple times and hes a really nice person. If you need any other info, e-mail me at [email protected]. -Good Luck! -Stacey

Lake Ronkonkoma

Sorry to confuse you Cindy,
I lived on Long Island in Medford, 15 minutes from Ronkonkoma, for 23 years up until August of this year. I moved to Idaho to be with my fiance. My huge family all lives on Long Island still so that is why I am looking to get married there. Most of my family lives on the border or Nassau and Suffolk so Im not sure where we are going to get married, but with 6 months to plan we better get moving.
