Last Minute RSVPs- Need Opinions

Last Minute RSVPs- Need Opinions

So our RSVP date was last Friday and we have almost heard from everyone. Still hunting down a few ( )

We are SIGNIFICANTLY under our minimum. Our minimum is 225 and we are going to have about 185

So the plan for THE LAST TWO YEARS has been for my parents to invite people from work if we were under our minimum. Now that it has come time to do so, they both feel too embarassed to be asking last minute

They are paying for the hall, so I don't know why they'd rather not ask and pay for people who aren't going to be there, but I guess if that's what they want to do then fine.

Anyway, my fiance and I are debating whether or not we want to ask anyone else to fill the vacant spots.

I recently started a job (the first week of May--the same week my inviations went out). I work for a VP who has about 20 people under him. I am thinking about asking the VP and his 4 direct reports (along with their significant others).

Here are my questions:
Do you think they will be offended that I am asking them last minute?
I am sure they don't expect to be invited, so will they think it's wierd that they are?
What I am really worried about is that my FH's friends are known to get ROWDY
I don't want to be judged!!

Would you ask them just to get your count up, or is it not even worth it? (FH thinks I shouldn't ask them, but wanted to get your opinions)

Thank you for reading and for your opinions if you got through this whole thing!

I would say go right ahead and ask but it is really up to how you feel about the people you work with. I came under about 10 and me and fh split the difference. FH wound up asking a few people from work who were more then happy to come. He just explained that we originally cut down the list to just family and with the amount that said no he would really like to extend an invitation to them. 4 out of the 6 he asked said yes, the other 2 were going to be on vacation. Im sure if you are friendly with them at work they would be more than happy to help fill some spots. There really is no reason to waste the money you have to pay. May they can give you something extra for it.

***As DanaNPatrick said you can always ask liw girls. I have 5 attending mine from the last gtg

We are significantly under our minimum as well. We told our banquet manager and she added in a bunch of upgrades. Our guests are going to be DJ fat when they leave! haha

We were under our minimum by about 10 people, and then 6 didn't show up on day of. We didn't ask for anyone else to come - we just didn't feel right just having people there we originally didn't want to. We also had a really small wedding, so that's also part of it. But totally up to you, I don't think people would get offended if you invited them now just let them know. Worst that can happen is they say no

You're still about a month out- it's not SO last minute. I'd ask. And then I'd probably ask the LIW ladies!
