Was probably one of the WORST nights of my life. Of our the 16 people who were SUPPOSED to show only 12 did. I only ordered 14 tickets to the dinner show we went to and lost out on 2 tickets (non refundable- especially since 2 of the 4 people only gave me about 20 mins notice that they BOTH weren't coming (b/c they were 'fighting' - they're boyfriend and girlfriend). So we lost out on $102 that I'm hoping they're going to pay for (which as of now she's only paying for HER share even though she begged me to let him come too). Then my FBIL got SO DRUNK that he went ballistic in the car on the way home and got out on Woodhaven Blvd. (we live in QUeens but he's from LI) and we couldn't find him until he showed up on our doorstep at 7am this morning. It was really awful and my FI and I are having an awful day today b/c of everything last night. Plus, FBIL is our BM and now we don't know if he should be anymore. UGH- had to vent.

Re: Last night's Jack n Jill
Sorry your night didn't turn out as you planned. However, I don't think asking your FBIL not to be in the BP any more should be a consideration. Yes, he behaved inmature, and hopfully he is ashamed. I would simply tell him that you both are happy that he had such a great time at your dinner, and just ask that the day of the wedding to please just be a little bit more moderate with the champain, because it's a long and full day. And say it with a smile Hopfully your FH will talk to him on the side.
I do not think it is wise or worth it making a big deal out of it, it is done and removing him from the BP would cause alot of friction.
On the bright side...... Be thankful it was far in advance of your wedding day and not the week or day before. Hope this helps

OH NO!!! I would just tell her that she should PAY for her boyfriend's half since she insisted that he come and then they both stayed home. ...I hope it all works out for you!

Re: Last night's Jack n Jill
Thanks everyone It's not even the point that he got drunk- that's not enough of a reason to kick him out as our BM. It's the fact that my FH can't even talk about him right now and no less look at him and the fact that he threatened my FH 'If you don't pull this car over now I'm going to bash your f****n skull in!' - among other things. I put him on a train yesterday morning just to get him home safe and we're just in a really awkward situation right now. He almost punched one of my friends in the face when he was going ballistic and there's blood in my car from him hitting his head and punching his fist against our window. My FH's parents called us to ask us to go out to dinner w/ them tonight (just the 4 of us) to discuss this but I don't know that's such a good idea. We're going though. I feel like this is just one BIG LONG nightmare that isn't ending and I have a feeling it's not going to end for a good 2 1/2 months. I NEVER thought I'd ever feel anything like this when I was planning for the happiest day of my life. Thanks for all of you who wrote- you cheered me up.

Re: Last night's Jack n Jill
Update - We went out with FIL's last night to discuss all of this and I don't really 'feel better' (and neither does my FI) but at least we know what the rest of the family's views are.

Re: Last night's Jack n Jill
Your situation really stinks! I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with this and that it's putting a damper on your planning. I think that since you say FH can't talk to this guy right now, that maybe you should. Just give him a call and let him know that you aren't happy about the way things went the other night. Try to let him to the talking and see if he apologizes or seems remorseful. I'm sure if he feels bad, you will feel much better. Not that he feels bad of course, but that he understands he did something wrong/disrespectful. I think if you talk to him you'll feel much more comfortable with him taking part in your wedding. Good luck!
