We are staying till the end and we are likly having an after party as well...but we are having a Friday weeding and are hoping to leave for honeymoon on a sunday..

I'm getting married on Sunday afternoon, and the next day is Memorial Day. We will also be having an after-party.

So, I'll be there until the end...and beyond!

I can't imagine my guests partying it up at my wedding without me being there. I'm paying for the whole thing and I want to be there for the whole thing. I'd rather sleep on the plane or when I get to my honeymoon destination than miss a single second of my once-in-a-lifetime (hopefully!) wedding.

EXACTLY!

I don't think anyone said what you are planning is right or wrong. It's up to you. You asked us what we were all doing and we gave you answers, including our reasoning. I guess we didn't know that we were just supposed to say yes or no and nothing more. I don't understand why you're getting upset.

Mya - Why do you say that the topic is not safe? I dont think people said you were doing the WRONG thing or that they were doing the RIGHT thing All us girls have different opinions on what will make our day great. I dont think you should be insulted and I dont think you should have to justify your decision to anyone - people disagree w/ me all the time.
Im sure what ever you do it will be great

So are we. We are going back to the hotel bar after the wedding for an after party. We are leaving early Sunday morning. Yah. We are also having a Saturday brunch. I don't want to miss any gossip that happened at the wedding

i stayed to the very last second!!!! i didnt want it to end. it goes by so fast and you get caught up in the moment! I say stay, enjoy yourselves, you can sleep on the flight but its completely up to you.

we actually stayed and then we all went back to the hotel for an after hour wedding party and had a brunch the next day....

Re: Leaving during reception?

Mya - I love the idea of having an exit from the reception. I'd like to do like in the movies and throw my bouquet right before I leave for my honeymoon!!! Kinda dorky I know. But realistically I will probably stay till the end. I won't want to miss any part of the partying and I think we will probably be leaving for the honeymoon the next day not that night. We're probably staying that night at the hotel next door so it would be silly for me to have my grand exit and then walk next door!!! But your plan sounds great for you. Enojoy the 'moment'.

ETA: I reread your post and realize you are not leaving till the next day either. Regardless I still think that you should exit as you wish. Your reasoning is good for you and that's all that matters! Have fun.

I think you should do whatever is going to make your day YOURS -
I personally wouldn't want to miss a second of a day I planned for over a year and one that will ONLY happen once in my life. - But that's me ........
I say if you want to do the traditional thing, go for it -
