Hi Ladies I am not new to this site but this is my first post. I am a leonards bride August 30, 2009 and I met with Ian yesterday. I must say I went in expecting the worse but he is actually a really cool guy. We went over our room where ceremony will be held and reception, not sure which room I will be getting for cocktail hour (reception is in continental). He showed us the cakes, the two free ones look a little old school so we opted for an upgrade. The upgrades run from about 250 to aprox. 400 if im not mistaken. I took some pictures of the cakes which I will attempt to attach. He offered VH which he says is usually 14 but will give it to us for 8 pp. He also offered at cocktail hour to pass around strawberry daquiri and pina colada for an extra hundred dollars. Table and chair covers will be ivory, If you want to change bow colors it's an extra 2.50 per chair. Napkin colors can be changed for free. I hope this helps.
Thank you so very much for all the great info . My reception is also in the Continental room..love that room!!

You're welcome. I love that room to, I was originally in the empire but when I saw the continental I had to make that switch. Sorry could not post pics of the cakes, the file is too big to attach. Does anyone know how I could bypass that?

I got married in March of 08 at Leonards. The 18% is actually a service charge and does not go to the wait staff. They recommend you tip the wait staff separately. I didn't...there was no way I was going to come off even more money than I already did. I only tipped the BM that's it. As far as the extras...I would pay extra for the premium bar and cake...thats it. They threw in alot of the 'extras' they claim they charge for..Including the seafood station and the chocolate fountain. Remember these reception halls have no set rules..Its all about negoiation. Talk them down until they are sick of talking. I paid for the premium bar because my family and us are big drinkers (we aren't alcoholics so that sounds bad) but what I mean is that we know the difference between the cheap stuff and good stuff and it was important to us that everyone drank and had a good time. Secondly, the cakes that they include are horrible. Unless you want the cake with the fountain in the middle and the bridesmaids going up the stairs from 1985 I would suggest upgrading. We ended up paying for a basic fondant upgrade. It wasn't fancy but it was fondant and it was good enough..$1 extra per person. You can see my review for pics and FM me with any questions you may have.
I actually read your review and it was great! Thank you so much .. I also upgraded to the premium bar and we added passed frozen drinks like pina colada at the CH. We upgraded our cakes (they added new ones since 08 lol) but you know wedding cake never really tastes that good so we also got the VH. Other than that we added the shrimp entree. Hopefully everything will be good!

LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was just talking to Maria at Leonards and she forward me to the reception so that she can take a msg for Ian...
When the reception picks up the line (she thought I was Maria!!!) she said ' THESE ******* PEOPLE ARE GETTING ON MY NERVES!!!'...
I was like 'Hello!! I'm Emily and my event is june 28th!! Great Customer Service!!!' ...
She was so shocked!! She didnt know what to say!!
In reality its not funny!! That is wrong .. She shouldnt say that of people who call!! When Ian calls me back I'm going to let him know.. Thats wrong!!
