Holy moly that's alot in one table but sounds good though just in case i have to add some extras into a already 12 person table.
We found that we don't really need 14 but we might on a few so who knows.

thanks sweetie! Also, when you are calculating the per plate cost, are you including tip? Like to be safe we added an extra $5 for tip does that sound ike enough for the the staff and MD to split?

I have only calculated the plate cost, gratuity and tax not the separate tip they are getting. $5 is more than enough because if you have 100 ppl thats $500 for the MD and the wait staff, so sounds good to me.

I don't think we have a service fee. The contract only mentions the gratuity and the tax no service fee. Maybe her RH calls the gratuity a service fee...hmm Ian didn't mention that to you when you went to meet with him?

No he didnt say anything about a service fee.. I know that there is 18% on the contract (so does that mean tip)? Although I couldve sworn that Ian said that tips were not included and that it was generally like $5 per plate extra at our descretion. So do we have 18% plus tax?

The 18% is tip but i guess he meant that for the maitre'd and bridal attendents tips those are separate from the 18% . So we have to pay 18% plus tax and the cost of the plate.

So i called leonards lol and some stupid girl picked up who didnt know anything but anyway, I digress ... its 18% serivce fee plus 8.625 tax on top of that and that is off your total. I am assuming that the 18% is gratituity for the wait staff but she didnt know the answer to that

Re: Leonard's of Great Neck 09er's Question & Answer thread
I got married in March of 08 at Leonards. The 18% is actually a service charge and does not go to the wait staff. They recommend you tip the wait staff separately. I didn't...there was no way I was going to come off even more money than I already did. I only tipped the BM that's it. As far as the extras...I would pay extra for the premium bar and cake...thats it. They threw in alot of the 'extras' they claim they charge for..Including the seafood station and the chocolate fountain. Remember these reception halls have no set rules..Its all about negoiation. Talk them down until they are sick of talking. I paid for the premium bar because my family and us are big drinkers (we aren't alcoholics so that sounds bad) but what I mean is that we know the difference between the cheap stuff and good stuff and it was important to us that everyone drank and had a good time. Secondly, the cakes that they include are horrible. Unless you want the cake with the fountain in the middle and the bridesmaids going up the stairs from 1985 I would suggest upgrading. We ended up paying for a basic fondant upgrade. It wasn't fancy but it was fondant and it was good enough..$1 extra per person. You can see my review for pics and FM me with any questions you may have.

Re: Leonard's of Great Neck 09er's Question & Answer thread
Hi Ladies I am not new to this site but this is my first post. I am a leonards bride August 30, 2009 and I met with Ian yesterday. I must say I went in expecting the worse but he is actually a really cool guy. We went over our room where ceremony will be held and reception, not sure which room I will be getting for cocktail hour (reception is in continental). He showed us the cakes, the two free ones look a little old school so we opted for an upgrade. The upgrades run from about 250 to aprox. 400 if im not mistaken. I took some pictures of the cakes which I will attempt to attach. He offered VH which he says is usually 14 but will give it to us for 8 pp. He also offered at cocktail hour to pass around strawberry daquiri and pina colada for an extra hundred dollars. Table and chair covers will be ivory, If you want to change bow colors it's an extra 2.50 per chair. Napkin colors can be changed for free. I hope this helps.
