Leonard's or Westbury! Please help me decide!!

Original post by Mikeysgirl

I fell in love with Leonard's while FH fell in love with Westbury. Now we can't agree on a hall and we've been bickering about it all day!! I like the look of Leonard's and FH loves the look of Westbury. Please help me decide. I liked the attention we got from Westbury but at the same time I don't mind being one of many brides at Leonard's. WHat I didn't like about Westbury was the size of the room they are offering, but that's exactly what FH liked about it. We're having about 75 guests and they offered us the upstairs room ( I forgot the name) I think its too tight. I also feel like I won't be able to fit in the coctail room at Westbury with my dress without getting it dirty because the coctail room is also tight. Leonard's offered us the room on the main floor and its so spacious. I want my out of town guests to be impressed and to me Leonard's seems more impressive however Westbury's grounds are pretty impressive. Please Help me decide!!!

I akm biased and pick Leonards, I simply can not say enough on how amazing that place is! Everyone was terrific and there were two other weddings on the night I got married I was on the penthouse floor and one of the other weddings was right next to me and at first i was worried but on the night of the wedidng you would have not known there was anyone in the room next to us. As for the food OMG is all I can say it was to die for just go for a tasting and see for yourself. If you have any questions please let me know.

I was also married at Westbury. My wedding and another were going on and i never saw the other bride. I loved the service and attention. The food was great and the room was perfect. The gardens were so enchanting. Couples that attended my weding said they loved the cocktail hour in the gardens because they were able to walk around and see the beautiful scenory. I think Westbury is a wonderful place.

I have been to a wedding at Leonards and it was VERY nice.. BUT.. I did book Westbury Manor bc we are having a smaller party (100-110) and our room (the Garden Room - same one they showed you) was perfect for our party. And the grounds, weather permitting, were fantastic.. That sold me as well..

I can confirm that WM does not give tastings...BUT when I went there to book my parents and my fiance and I all ate the restaurant for free. We talked with the BM first and were undecided (not b/c of the place b/c of a price quoting issue we had) so when we went to dinner i mentioned if we could receive a complimentary meal since they do not do tastings. I have heard of others that this has not worked for but its worth a try. My wedding is going to be about 200 people, so maybe thats why. Good Luck with your decision!!

I went to see WM and also thought the cocKtail room was very tight. However I did think that the place in all is beautiful. I went to a sweet sixteen at Leonards and was really impressed. The place was beautiful and the food was so good. Good luck!

I've never been to Leonards, but obviously I love Westbury Manor. I think you just know when its the right place, thats how it was for us. Which place can you envision your wedding in? Which one makes you all excited?
What time of year are you getting married? For me that made a difference, since it has the potential to be a beautiful spring day I wanted a place that had beautiful gardens I could take advantage of.
I also love that WM has a 'homey' feel to it, it doesnt have that catering hall feel that so many other places have. But each person has her own taste.
Go with your gut. And if you are still not sure, look at some other places.
