Re: Leonards/deposit

chair covers for free? Maurizio said its $3 per chair cover, which in my case turns out to be just 1,000 $ for mere chair covers, and i really want them because i dont like the colors of the chairs, and i think it'd make the room look nicer, i tried negotiating with him to make it come down to $2.00, but he said not its not worth it to him, cuz he gets them dry-cleaned for that amount lol. What banquet manager are you dealing with???

Im also dealing with Maurizio, he said he threw in the chair covers. Hes hard to negotiate with, we tried to for one thing and he was just like NO. We wanted to pay in cash and see if he could not charge tax, and he was like you can pay cash if you want but your still going to pay tax. So you can try but hes a tough cookie.

Re: Leonards/deposit

I am getting married at Leonards and yes, I had to put down a $3,000 deposit. I just dont understand why someone would not want to book because of the amount of the deposit you have to give to secure the date. In the end.. thats $3,000 LESS you have to pay. It is going to come out of your pocket sooner or later. I rather have it taken out in the begining rather than at the eng when money is spread thin...

One perk with booking w/Leonards is that the majority of the $$ is due only weeks before your wedding opposed to alot of halls which requires you to make multiple payments.

The deposit may all depend on the room & the amount of people you are having.

I booked at Leonard's too and I put down I believe $4K but I am also haveing a lot of guests and booked the largest room.

Like Janie said it really dosent make a difference b/c it is just less at the end.

are you getting your food done by Leonards too? Maurizio just seems too hard to deal with. talk about leniency, or making a bride happy!

Re: Leonards/deposit

So, let me think out loud about this... you are renting Leonard's for approximately $11,000 for just the space... you're going to be spendign a lot more on food.... did you look into other places that had cheaper 'rental fees'? I feel like a place like Oheka Castle charges something like $10k for a site rental.... if you're paying that price as it is, you can broaden your scope of looking if you aren't pleased with the service you're getting at LoGN....hope it works out for you! :)

Re: Leonards/deposit

well in the rental i obviously get the room, silverware, service/wait staff, and other things, ive checked at Crest hollow CC, terrace on the park, fox hollow, floral terrace and EVERy place said that they would charge me between 35-42$ per person no food, and than food is seperate since im doing persian cuisine. So i believe thats average, and Leonards is beautiful from the outside and the ballrooms are pretty too, so thats why i was sticking with it, if anything its on the cheaper end compared to the other rates i was getting. but thanksss !!

It's not too much, he isn't cheating you...I just booked with leonard's and they charged me the same price...

I think the pricing depends on the size, i'm having 250 at my reception...

From what I've seen on the boards that sounds like the norm for Leonards. We had to put 1K down as a deposit. I think it is all of matter of how much $$$ you want to shell out up front.

Im dealing with the Banquet Manager- Maurizio. I think im going to finalize having my wedding at Leonards of Great Neck, when i sign the contract he's asking for a deposit of $3,000, that sum seemed a lil high to me compared to the other reception halls, so all you leonard bride's is that close to the amount you had to pay to seal the deal?

in addition Leonard's will not be doing my food, im having persian and indian cuisine catered by someone else.

im nervous!

We put down 1,500 for a wedding of under a 100 people.
